Top Na-ri Hotel Reviews

Cloudin Hotel Mokpo Peace Square branch

Cloudin Hotel Mokpo Peace Square branch

10/10 Excellent
"My stay at the Sea Cruise Hotel in Sokcho was very enjoyable and convenient overall. The room was clean and featured a firm mattress, and the partial ocean view allowed us to watch a beautiful sunrise right from our room. Parking was hassle-free, and the location is ideal—it’s less than a 10-minute walk to the local traditional market, where you can grab the famous Sokcho makgeolli bread, and it sits right next to a scenic lakefront walking trail that connects to the ocean and lights up nicely at night. Up on the top floor, you get incredible panoramic views of the entire area, including Seoraksan. I also highly recommend the breakfast, which was reasonably priced and offered a great mix of Korean and American styles. The only downside to the stay was having quite a few mosquitoes in the room, which was tricky since the windows didn't have screens."

Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Na-Ri?
The best area to stay in Na-Ri is around the Na-Ri Basin, particularly near the Ulleungdo Island Lighthouse.

This area is the island's only flat plain and is surrounded by steep cliffs, creating a natural amphitheatre. It's an agricultural hub, known for its fields of native plants and produce. The Ulleungdo Island Lighthouse, a prominent landmark, offers fantastic views of the East Sea. The general layout is rural and spread out, with small guesthouses and restaurants dotted along the roads leading to the coast.

Couples looking for a tranquil escape will find the Na-Ri Basin ideal. The calm surroundings and opportunities for scenic walks, like the trail leading to the lighthouse, provide a relaxing experience. You can enjoy the natural beauty and the quiet pace of island life.

For travellers interested in hiking and exploring the island's unique geology, staying near the Na-Ri Basin offers convenient access to various trails.
When is the best time to go to Na-Ri?
The best time to visit Na-Ri is during the spring (April to May) or autumn (September to October) for pleasant weather and clear skies.

Spring in Na-Ri brings mild temperatures and the landscape comes alive with blooming flowers, making it ideal for hiking and exploring the island's natural beauty. The air is fresh, and the crowds are generally smaller than in the peak summer months.

Autumn offers similarly agreeable temperatures and beautiful foliage as the leaves change colour, providing stunning scenic views. This season is superb for outdoor activities like strolling through the forests or enjoying coastal walks without the intense heat or humidity of summer.
