A Memorable 25th Wedding Anniversary Celebration** My wife and I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Creta Blue Boutique Hotel from March 27-april 7 2025 to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary, and our experience was nothing short of spectacular. From the moment we arrived, the warm hospitality provided by George, the owner, was truly exceptional. George went above and beyond to ensure our stay was seamless and enjoyable, arranging transportation to and from the airport, organizing a rental car, and providing a comprehensive guide to explore the breathtaking island of Crete. His dedication to making us feel welcome and cared for at this charming, family-owned boutique hotel. The accommodations exceeded our expectations. Our luxurious room featured a beautifully updated bathroom, a spacious living area, and a private balcony that offered stunning views of both the pool and the ocean. The elegant design and attention to detail created a comfortable and relaxing atmosphere, perfect for unwinding after a day of exploring. We stayed for 11 nights, and every moment was filled with joy and tranquility. The Creta Blue Boutique Hotel is truly a hidden gem that combines personalized service with exquisite accommodations, and it made our anniversary celebration an unforgettable experience. The property itself is in a beautiful spot. Amazing views and right in between the towns of Agios Nicholas and Elounda. In theory, it has everything that should make a resort great. Problem though is the dining situation......And its a MAJOR problem. I don't know if I've ever written a poor review in my life about a hotel. But, I have to give a warning especially for anyone who doesn't take the all inclusive meal plan. They advertise that they have multiple restaurants and bars, but they are rarely if ever open. And when they are open, you need reservations well in advance. Like, you need to reserve your meals before you even start your trip. We tried and were unable to reserve a table at ANY of their restaurants the entire time we were there (6 days). Not one. The only food option the entire week we were there was their main restaurant which is the exact same buffet everyday for lunch and dinner. If you're not all inclusive, it's $150 dollars for a family of 4. Which I guess isn't horrible, but it's pretty mediocre food and I can't see how anyone could eat a week's worth of meals there. The one pool bar that was open had no snacks to order. There is no lobby bar to get appetizers. Seriously nothing. Thankfully there is a little market across the street from the hotel that we were able to get cheese and crackers from, and we were able to eat most of our meals in the nearby towns. But the fact that this is labelled as a "resort" with dining options is a complete scam.

Overall very good hotel and worth to stay there. The staff is super super polite with a nice smile everywhere, from top to bottom. The beach is nice, open to the north winds. Food is acceptable standard hotel buffet with variety of foods (although no Cretan foods or delicacies at the part of the buffer we were using). There are two sections building-wise, a renovated section and an old section. The sea-view bungalow we had this time was at the old section, 80s style, and definitely not worth 230-250 euros/night, with sea-view obstructed a lot by the front line bungalows. In the past we stayed at a cheaper, standard sea-view renovated room, main building section, which was better value for money than the more expensive bungalow(s).
