Easy links into town from a comfortable base.
Excellent hotel a short Underground journey or 1h walk through English Garden into town. Very helpful and attentive staff. It’s a 25min €80 taxi ride from the airport, €65 Uber if you can get one, or 1h on two trains. Our king room was functional yet stylish with all the little features and attention to detail you would expect from Marriott. You know it’s good when you see the airlines using it for their staff. The small spa and gym was not too busy. It has a steam room, sauna, cold drench, small pool and jacuzzi. Champions bar is a casual atmosphere with great staff but there’s also a ‘posh’ wine restaurant for a more lar-de-dar experience. By far the best experience was the breakfast. A huge variety was provided every morning from 6.30 - 11am. Central Munich is busy during the Christmas buzz. There are servers Xmas markets and beer halls to visit. The biggest and busiest market is Tollwood a short U-train ride from the centre. Overall, a highly recommended place to stay for a few night visit of Munich and the surrounding area for a Bavarian culture loving couple like us.
