Rural location was convenient to access all notable attractions and features in the area, including city centres nearby. Extremely friendly dog who our kids enjoyed playing with throughout our stay. "I am in love with this place. I arrived early and got lunch, it was £30 for early check in, so I was advised I could sit in the lobby or I could get some food. I opted for food, which costthe £30 for 3 courses of the most beautiful homemade, rustic food, in a restaurant that was decorated like my house, playing the most chilled playlist. I have never felt more welcomed or at home. I was then advised when I could check in, which I did. The room was a good size, lots of storage, air-conditioning, TV - that whilst older worked really well and had lots of channel options, tea making facilities - lots of milk and options that I took advantage of, two bottles of Irish spring in water, the room was clean and felt comfortable, the bed is firm - which I love but others may not. The bathroom had everything but conditioner, and the water temperature was consistent. There was a little bit of staining in the toilet and a spide, this didn't bother me, but I know others would be picky about it. I struggle travelling alone, but I have never felt more at home, the staff were lovely, especially the woman who I initially spoke to, I am unsure if she was the owner or manager, but she seemed to come across as the boss, she was so warm and made me feel entirely at home. I left before breakfast, but I have no doubt this would have been amazing too! I would definitely recommended and would definitely stay again!"

"Check in quick and easy. Parking was busy but always found a space. Room was clean and functional, cleaned daily although often not until well into the afternoon. The safe was not working when we arrived but was fixed almost immediately on notifying reception. The food, both breakfast and evening meals, was very good quality with lots of choice. The gym was out of operation which we were not aware of before arrival - there was no indication of when it would reopen. The swimming pool has 2 water slides, only one of which was working during our 6 night stay, and that one was temporarily closed on and off all day for lifeguard breaks. Changing rooms were clean. Be aware that the 'spa', being the jacuzzi, sauna and steam room, are all in the very busy main pool area . The jacuzzi was frequently taken over by groups of small children despite the 16+ rule (although I think a slighter younger age restriction such as 12+ would have been fine). We used the golf driving range - free loan of clubs and you just pay for the basket of balls. A good activity for those travelling with older children, even beginners. Staff were all courteous and eager to help. I would recommend this hotel for families with children primarily. It is well located for exploring the surrounding area and is very child friendly."

"We stayed for 4 nights. The food was excellent and the breakfast offers a huge variety. The staff are really friendly and the hotel was very clean and well maintained. We were looking to book but it again for the following week but was fully booked in no time. It's only 15 mins drive from Belfast International Airport."

The River Bann Retreat

"Nice place. Miss the personal welcome, it makes a difference. We received a blank check-in email and had no one to help or even a number to call. Thankfully they responded quickly to the email help request so we received our full check in details without too much delay. Some cleaning issues eg mould in shower. Poor quality gowns, bleach stains on them and no gown belts, poor quality towels. Both things fairly tatty. We booked for 2 adults and two children - the apartment was only set up for 2 in the double bed. Sofa bed bedding left on the floor. They provided only 3 towels, and not enough shower gel. Hot tub was lovely, too hot initially so we waited to cool it, then it was cut off at midnight - really disappointing as we had had to wait for it to cool then got about 10 minutes in it!! Thought the open fire was great, but nothing to light the fire had been provided and there was not enough firewood. Overall it’s a good spot, good location and great potential but definitely improvements needed. Wouldn’t categorize it as luxury glamping due to the points highlighted."
