It's all about the view.
The house is perched on a hillside - up about 70 steps from the parking lot. Since the house is all windows facing the East China Sea and a huge coral reef right in front, the view is there all day long from the dining room, living room, bedrooms and bathroom (I dare say one of the best views from a bathtub anywhere). The colors are spectacular in the sun. We had a lot of rain, so it was less brilliant but still beautiful. In the evening there is often a beautiful sunset, too. The house seems isolated in the jungle, since no neighbors can be seen. However, it is in a lovely area to explore (Motobu). We rented bikes and used buses to get around, shop and visit the area. The larger city of Nago isn't far and also has some wonderful restaurants. There are some nice outdoor spaces to use, too. Having a washer and dryer unit is also very helpful. There is limited storage in the kitchen for supplies, although the refrigerator has a lot of space. The bedroom also has limited storage, which is basically full of additional bedding, so we lived out of suitcases for the most part. We are looking forward to return.
