Daruba is the administrative and commercial centre of Morotai, offering the most developed infrastructure and accommodation options. The town is also the main entry point to the island, with the ferry terminal and airport nearby.

Couples looking for convenience and access to local life will find Daruba suitable. It's easy to arrange island tours, diving excursions, and transport to other parts of Morotai from here. The local market provides a glimpse into daily island life, and there are several small beaches just outside the town for relaxation.

For those seeking a more secluded and tranquil experience, particularly for solo travellers or couples wanting to unwind, areas slightly outside Daruba, such as those near Tanjung Dehegila, offer a quieter alternative.
