It was a great, cozy stay only a short drive from downtown Blue Ridge. We enjoyed the hot tub and outdoor spaces. The host was also very responsive. I got home and realized I had left my keys. It takes about 8 mins to walk to the lake. We did not like the very unsafe parking which was steep and unpaved and also very unsafe to walk up and down to. I almost fell down several times going to my car which we ended up parking below the uphill lot. Then comes bedtime!! My daughter had to sleep in the bed with us because the loft had a certain smell, was dirty with pet hair all over the pillows and beddings and dead insects on the floor with small flies flying around. I had to sweep the floor on the loft and left it there for the cleaner to see so they can do a better job next time. I also had to wrap the pillows with the clean towels in the main bed where we all slept just so we are not inhaling those pet hairs. I don’t know what those small tiny dark spots are in all the beds, I prayed and hoped those are not bed bugs! We had to sleep in our long sleeve and long pants with socks and hair cover just to make sure! I asked my husband if we could just leave that night and go home but he did not want to drive through the mountains at night! I wish I can attach pictures here! I traveled with my partner and my dog and all three of us had a fantastic time! It’s close enough to downtown blue ridge, but far enough away to feel private. It was a little loud because of the construction happening on the cabin next to us, which was setting the dog across the street off but i’m sure the construction will be finished soon and that won’t be a problem much longer. I do wish the appliances were a little better, it took double the time to cook in the microwave/oven. I also wish the washing machine was working during our stay. The location is so lovely though, we were so close to so many wonderful hikes! There’s also a place only ten minutes away called Project Chimps that had an AMAZING hiking trail, and you could hear the chimps during the entire hike!
