The displayed photos of the place and the actual condition of our room were completely different. It is surprising if this place passes inspection. The bathroom had a musty odor with a dripping tub faucet that couldn't be stopped, It lacked a bathroom fan and there was no toilet paper. The bedroom comforter and the cover over the sofa were ripped in a few places. There were night insects in the room that crawled around on the bed and sofa. The lobby was a dingy cramped area with space for only a person to enter and be registered by surly staff. It is unfortunate I have to to submit this review since I feel it is important to alert people and maybe incentivize the motel to improve. The motel was a unexpected downer in an otherwise very positive experience in Montreal.

This is my first bad review. DO NOT STAY HERE. I got a moldy, disgusting, dirty room with bugs not like the pictures at all. The other customers at the hotel called the Police on the hotel Owner multiple times for theft. The employees are nice and tell me the Owner Michael Meng treats them like garbage, and wants to steal as much money from tenants as he can. The bathroom didn't even have a mirror which makes shaving and morning routine a pain. I asked to switch rooms to ANY other one or get my money back, the owner said I'd have to pay more money and no refunds, he then hung up and blocked my number. The police showed up for other customers at the same time who Michael Meng was stealing from, and this is when the front desk agent gave me a different room which didn't have as much mold and a mirror in the bathroom it was still disgusting. Save the trouble and go to any other hotel/motel. DO NOT STAY HERE I REPEAT DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!

I recently stayed at this place booked through Expedia and my experience was not great. The location was away from the main city, dark, and felt unsafe at times. The checkout process was time-consuming and cleanliness was a major issue. Additionally, the place did not look like what was advertised in the pictures and appeared to be rundown. The bathroom had stains and did not appear to have been cleaned before my arrival. Overall, I would not recommend this place to anyone looking for a comfortable and safe stay.

Thank you for choosing Motel Rideau. Our motel is very close to champlain bridge, so it is only a few minutes' drive from Montreal Island. Since we are close to the riverside garden,it is kind of dark at night, but we motel have voice-control light outside the rooms. Brossard is a safe city and our motel has video surveillance for safety too. Therefore, there is no need to worry about safety. As for the cleaning, we clean all the room before clients enters, but some dusts/stains can't be removed by regular cleaning, but we are going to renovate it step by step. Hopefully it will be cleaner soon. Thanks.

Not a terrible property, but you get what you pay for the price was pretty good for the Montreal area. It was well under half the price I paid in July to be inside the city, but it was dated. If you are looking for cheap accommodations this place will work for you. If you want, luxury or convenience, I would stay somewhere else

If I could give them a -10, I will. First let me start with this: Don’t leave anything in the room or you will lose it. They will enter to your room and throw away all your belongings. It doesn't matter that you specify you don’t want to be disturb or that they don’t enter to your room. They will enter “to clean” supposely and they will throw away everything. They asked us to go to the garbage area to look inside for our clothes and things that they threw away for no reason… it’s just unbelievable. The room smelled like cigarettes all the time (that disgusting smell will be on all your clothes and bags), the whole room looks dirty, the bathroom was the worst. Customer service is terrible, they just don't care. Even one night, there was no electricity, we were in the dark, no lights, no air conditioning, nothing… and they just don't care. We asked for a refund for this and they say it was not their fault. They do not accept or assume any responsibility. Simply the worst experience ever. Please pay a little more and go somewhere else, I wish I would have done that.

As a motel that has served for guests for nearly half a century, we have been always trying to give our guests comfortable accommodation with affordable price. Our effort has been recognized by our guests and we always appreciate that. We were sorry for the misunderstanding and our cleaning staff just wanted to serve our guest by cleaning the room. As for the power outrage, that was a unexpected accident from Hydro Quebec,which can be verified by their website. The blackout was quite rare and we were sorry that it happened during your stay, fortunately, Hydro Quebec did repair it very soon. We have explained to our guests and all the other guests can understand that it was not the motel's fault.

Dear guest, we do cleaning after every guest checks out. Our room is seldom not in use for two days in a row due to high booking rate. The cleaning staff are quite experienced too. If you think the room doesn't smell good, we can either change the room for free or offer air freshener. If you have any concern during your stay, please contact the front desk right away.

Motel was run down and had a very sketchy vibe to it. Room next to us had what I can only assume was a "working girl" in it as guys literally came and went all night; while her pimp/body guard hung out in the parking lot. Grounds and motel could have been better cared for with some grounds work and TLC as its a nice location right on the St Lawrence river. Our room had mismatched lamps, and furniture which looked like it was picked up on the side of the road. The room looked nothing like the room pic in the expedia ad. Bed was very hard but surprisingly we slept ok and thankfully heard no noise from units on either side of us. Overall, you get what you pay for if you're looking for a cheap stay. Easy drive into Montreal and back so location is convenient.
