Stunning Contemporary Home, a River Penthouse on Russian River, like No Other!! Just fully renovated, "California Dream," a breathtaking Glass House, is 3,200 sq. ft. with a 2,500 sq. ft. deck and catwalk. Like a Blue Jay's nest in the adjacent 200 year old walnut tree's canopy, the house is 25 ft. above ground. It's perched on 2.8 acres of prime "lazy tubing" River Front Property. Dip in and out of the river all day from its grand 500 sq. ft. seasonal dock. The deck and dock, skybox and courtside seat, let guests watch who and what floats down the sauntering summer river. In the fall, in addition to wine tasting, the house is great for binge watching football inside, and playing football and golf outside. The property's Redwood Trees, jarring in size and longevity, welcome and embrace the entrance and front of the house. The house's openness and brightness coupled with the property's privacy, size and natural setting create a tranquil environment. "California Dream" is bordered by: "Northwood Golf Course," "The Bohemian Club," "the Russian River," and between "Monte Rio Beach" and "Johnson's Beach." Jenner Beach and Goat Rock Beach are 11 miles west, while Korbel Winery, Porter-Bass Winery and Armstrong Woods are 7 miles east. Otherwise, just peacefully float throughout the house and onto the deck: make a gourmet meal in the gourmet kitchen, or grill and have cocktails on the deck. From the extra large hot tub, relax and watch the river, sunshine, and sky parade by before the stars and moon takeover at night. "California Dream" is a contemporary River Penthouse retreat in which to rejuvenate, build bonds, and make lasting memories in a handsome natural setting. It's complemented by an architecturally compelling space in which to live. It is an exceptional mid-century house with provenance that has been refreshed with care, modern design and materials. "California Dream" is 70 miles north of the Golden Gate Bridge. To BOOK "California Dream" the owner must speak directly to the prospective guest to address some specific conditions for booking. We are new to renting out our renovated home, as a short term rentals, directly to strangers, so we need to make sure we are doing things appropriately. A mutually beneficial relationship. We don't want to over commit and we want to make sure guest have reasonable expectations. We strive to prove an exceptional vacation rental experience, so "open communication" is paramount. Ideally, we want repeat guests to reduce wear and tear on our home. We spent a considerable amount of effort with this renovation so we don't want a few bad apples spoiling things for future guests and for my family. I appreciate your consideration, understanding and support. Hopefully, you'll enjoy the home as much as my family has for the past 10 years. The reality was even better. Now for the practical stuff:3 large bedrooms all with Kings (one with 2 King beds);Single floor house with wonderful open concept;Very well stocked with all essentials like towels, bedding, condiments, dishes, cooking tools, two gas grills, (they have thought of most everything and provided it);There are some steps leading from the drive to the entry but they are broad, slip proof, and have easy hand rails;The combination contemporary and mid-century design works like a dream. If you love these styles you will be thrilled to find this gem;Quiet, beautiful neighborhood for walking among the redwoods with an Allistair McKenzie designed 9 hole golf course a couple minutes from the house;The views from the massive deck are amazing with multiple seating areas and the views from inside through the floor to ceiling windows make the home seamlessly integrated with the surroundings;The host was responsive, well prepared, and provided videos of how to operate certain features of the house prior to arrival. Could not have asked for more and did not have to. Great for a couple who likes space, or several couples who want to vacation together. Also great for a family with the river and activities right there. Please don’t screw this up with a big, noisy party. Very well stocked with appliances and makes for a lovely family get away. The only catch was that the deck is very splintery and we didn’t catch that until too late and my 3 year old daughter’s feet and legs were covered in splinters that we had to dig out a few times. We would definitely stay again. There’s nothing more serene than sitting outside with a cup of coffee in the morning watching the river slowly wake up with birds and kayakers. ##### Christopher C. The location could not have been better. However, after our stay there were some disagreements with the property owner regarding the condition in which we left the home. While we took (and always take) extra effort to be respectful guests and leave the property in good shape, the owner claimed our stay necessitated excessive cleaning, which we strongly dispute, and that we broke a chair, which was broken when we arrived. In the end, I believe we were able to resolve the matter and move on, but the post-stay interaction left a bit of a cloud over an otherwise wonderful weekend at a gorgeous property. I'm hopeful the owner and I can simply agree to disagree and leave the weekend and the property with positive reviews, as it deserves. ##### John W. Unobstructed views of river, redwoods, oaks surrounding with amazing natural light. Comfy new beds with crisp sheets and down pillows for all.
