"Stayed here a couple of nights as we moved one of our kids into college nearby. Loved the convenient location and ease of check in/out. Breakfast was nice - a hot selection of eggs, sausage, biscuit gravy (it changed daily, I believe) and a waffle maker, plus a cold selection of pastries, bagels, cereal and whole fruit. Coffee and juice offerings were decent. The room itself had a decent amount of space for 3-4 people. The only downside was that there's no elevator at this property. But with only two floors, it wasn't a big deal. Just mentioning for those who may travel with heavy luggage. Oh - also wanted to note that we appreciated that there was a designated smoking area with an actual gazebo - somewhere to sit, get out of the sun or rain, and to discard cigarette trash so it's not floating around the property."

"Stayed with my pets and the pet fee was reasonable. Rates were affordable for the quality of the room. Located right a cross the center from two different restaurants making dinner easy. Highly recommend the Texas Roadhouse! Overall the room was really nice, it seemed to have been recently updated. However, I did have an issue with the fridge and microwave not turning on, which I reported to front desk at checkout. Overall I enjoyed my stay and would stay at a My Place Hotel in the future."

"The Staybridge Suites was easy to find and conveniently located between downtown Des Moines and the Iowa State Capitol. Check-in was friendly and efficient. Parking was available in the multi-storey car park next door for $20 per night. My room was a good size, with modern décor and a useful kitchenette area. The reception staff were also very helpful in directing me to the nearby pickup point for the shuttle bus to the Iowa State Fair. The impressive State Capitol is well worth visiting and only a 10–15-minute walk from the hotel. The surrounding area was very quiet during my stay, although this was on a Sunday evening. There were plenty of bars and restaurants nearby, but most were largely deserted that evening. Breakfast was served downstairs and offered a good selection of both hot and cold items. Overall, this was a peaceful and convenient place for an overnight stay in Des Moines. I am not sure there would be enough in the immediate area to occupy me for more than a couple of nights, but it suited my visit very well."
