"Nice pool , good breakfast, quiet location. Helpful managers, excellent restaurant on site Our room #128: shower head clogged-had to use hand held. Slow drain and small shower cubicle wirh no curtain: flooding on floor everytime we showered . Dont stay in room 128. Our AC kept our room cool, however everyday we would leave and the housekeeper would open the patio doors and leave them unlocked. We reported this to management. Air conditioner from above floor dripped onto our patio right next to...

"The hotel location is fantastic, very peaceful, with well kept and beautiful grounds. Food is excellent, staff and service equally so. Whilst the rooms are basic ours was very clean and the swim up pool, whilst shared with two other rooms, felt private. We had a wonderful ten days all inclusive, which was excellent value. We'd 100% return! Not a place to go if you're bothered about watching television 🙂"

Top Moírai Hotel Reviews

Hotel Kissandros

8/10 Good

"The lady in charge couldn’t do enough for us and she put on a decent enough breakfast each morning. Her qualities stemmed from her good nature and willingness to assist us in every way. Her lack of English language skills meant she lacked the werewithall to help on other issues such as a lack of certain bathroom equipment such as a plug for the sink. Such small inconveniences didn’t bother us but it may do others. The lady’s son attended regularly and he could speak English more than adequately. The room was always clean and everyone down at breakfast seemed to be perfectly happy with the place."

Private paradise with heated pool Peace, comfort. Goddess and large garden

10/10 Excellent

"If you are wanting a 5 star hotel this is not the place for you however if you are wanting a very Cretian villa with a beautiful pool and garden and a host who goes the extra mile then this is the place. Vagelis (the owner) simply added to the holiday with his fresh fruits, honey and oil from his own olives. He was available for any help needed. Great place to stay and great people. We would gladly visit again."

Paralos The Maxine - Adults Only

8/10 Good

"Great sea views and easy 5 minute walk to Agia Galini beach. Room 212 was spacious, bed was comfortable, pool was beautiful and had ample sun-beds and shade, and the AC worked great. Improvements that would enhance the stay include figuring out and fixing the sewage smell in the room and fixing the moldy trim outside shower. Lacked basic amenities like hair conditioner, had a bottle of hand lotion in the shower instead of hair conditioner- which was really weird. When you leave the room, all electricity turns off which means the mini refrigerator and freezer turn off- you come back to melted ice and warm beer. There is no restaurant on site. They do have a snack bar at the pool open until 5 pm. They have buffet breakfast with a lot of hot and cold choices each morning. If you want real orange juice, cappuccino, or espresso there is an additional charge (most hotels include these options via self serve machines). In the evening they offer a buffet dinner. Bar is open til late but does not serve food or snacks. We really missed having a restaurant to order from. Good news is plenty of great beach bars and tavernas were short walk away along the beach."

Astoria

10/10 Excellent

"The room was modern and spacious, balconies with a sea & mountain view. The buffet breakfast was fresh, with hot & cold choices, great coffee! Staff superb. Guests friendly with kind hearts. My wife was surprised when two Dutch couples presented her with a small gift, singing Happy Birthday on her birthday. Parking on site. Close to all amenities. Shout out to Anna & Constantina."

Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Moírai?

The best area to stay in Moírai is generally in the town centre, particularly around the main square and the streets immediately surrounding it.

This central area is the hub of activity in Moírai. You'll find the majority of the town's shops, cafes, and tavernas here, making it very convenient for dining and everyday needs. The main square is often a lively spot, especially in the evenings, with locals gathering. It's also well-connected for exploring the wider region.

For couples looking for a convenient base to explore the Messara Valley, staying in the town centre is ideal. You'll have easy access to local amenities and a comfortable place to return to after day trips to archaeological sites like Phaistos or Gortyna, or the beaches of Matala and Komos, which are just a short drive away.

For families, the central area also offers practicality. Having shops and eateries within easy walking distance is a big plus, and there are often parks or open spaces nearby where children can play.

When is the best time to go to Moírai?

For an enjoyable trip to Moírai, the best time to go is during the spring (April to early June) or autumn (September to October).

During spring, the weather is pleasantly warm, typically ranging from 20°C to 25°C, and the island is lush with blooming wildflowers. This period is ideal for couples who enjoy outdoor activities like hiking or exploring the countryside without the intense heat or larger crowds of summer. Autumn offers similar comfortable temperatures, usually between 22°C and 28°C, and the sea is still warm enough for swimming. It's a great time for travellers who appreciate a more relaxed pace and wish to experience local culture, such as olive harvesting, which often begins in late autumn. The beaches near Matala, a short drive from Moírai, are much quieter at this time, offering a more peaceful experience.
