Great place.

A Northern Gem!
We had a great stay at this property! Clean, comfortable and awesome amenities. The location was perfect to get out and explore what the UP has to offer. The hosts, Nate and Jess were very accommodating and great people. Can't wait for a return trip.

Centrally located. & close to the BEST pasties in the U.P. @superette
Great place to stay for our family. Our kids especially enjoyed the pool table! It was clean & having 2 bathrooms was great. One weird thing was no dining table in kitchen, but there’s really no space for it. Tv trays were ok for that. Please was quiet & clean. Nate was great to communicate with & even allowed a late check out if needed. Seriously love the Keweenaw! Thx Nate for allowing us to stay.

It was a fun place to stay...
The pool table and surround sound was fun! The kitchen was nice and the bath towels were amazing :) The laundry equipment was epic... meaning it was huge. You could wash two and a half loads at once and still have room in the washer. I want one! As for the kitchen, it was clean, but could use a few additional items, such as a large bowl for mixing or serving. We ended up using the small cereal bowls so it was fine. The only other thing I would mention is that there is no real table to eat on, but they have bar stools and a high counter and enough TV trays to use. Also, the shower in the upstairs bathroom is amazing! Just a bit hard to get into and the mirrors in the upstairs bathroom are hard to use for us short people ;) Not knocking any of this place, as I give it 5 stars, just want others to know! I would most DEFINITELY stay again.

All I can say is AMAZING!
This house is exactly as described and better! Everything works, the cubbards are stocked with all kinds of seasonings. The pool table is a godsend, we came with 5 teenagers and 4 adults. The 2 master bedrooms are great, and plenty of room for the kids! The washer is so nice we dont have to go home and do laundry. The location is perfect for site seeing. We would stay here again, and again, and again. The owner is so nice, checks on you to see if you need anything or have questions. He was very accommodating, when our boat to Isle Royale was delayed do to weather. I can't say enough about this house, except this is the place you want to stay! Very nice grocery store across the road.

Great Location
This was a perfect location for us. We visited Houghton, Eagle Harbor and Copper Harbor. Very nice accommodations and host was responsive. I recommend this location if you need a place in the Michigan UP!

2023 Snowmobile Presidents Weekend
This property was as close to perfect as we could get for our group of 9 snowmobilers. The host was so accommodating and worked with us every step of the way to make our stay perfect. The jetted tub was great to soak in after a hard day on the trails. We had 4 trailers and trucks and there was room for all to park. The pool table was a bonus for our group! As was the tap! The kitchen was spacious and had plenty of room to cook.

Pool table treasure
This property would be amazing for a friend getaway or evening home base for snowmobiles and ATV gathering. The pool table made our weekend so fun! We came up to enjoy a long weekend with our boys who attend MTU. Kleenex and better TP we’re a couple creature comforts that would have improved this weekend as well as well as living room furniture that didn’t belong in a frat house. Just expected better for the price point. Make sure to bring cozy socks as the tile floor gets chilly. We missed having a kitchen table to gather around and look one another in the eye but now we know that is important to us when we shop listings in the future. Overall it was good and would definitely be perfect for the right group.

Pleasant Surprise!
Having never been to Mohawk, MI before, and having never used a VRBO place in the U.P. before, we were not sure what to expect. But this was a pleasant surprise! The house is large, clean, updated, comfortable, and centrally located to get to anything from Houghton north. Nate, the owner, is easy to communicate with. We would definitely stay here again!

Great location, middle of the peninsula
This was a wonderful place, it’s location makes driving North or South on the Keewenaw a breeze. You can reach Houghton in less than 20 min or drive North to Copper Harbor in about 30min We were here to rockhound and enjoy the beaches with our young kids, but this is a sweet setup if your snowmobiling, definitely geared for that. The place was very well stocked with everything you might need, and when we needed a baby gate the owners were right on top of it, going out of their way to get it to us that same day. Can’t say enough good things. Stay here.. you won’t be disappointed!

Our main visit is to Michigan Tech but we enjoy the house so much we don’t mind the drive to Houghton. The unit has everything we need to work remote or watch the big game.

Perfect for Snowmobiling
I had booked this property for a snowmobile trip with my brothers. The location of the property was perfect for snowmobiling as there was plenty of room for parking and it was conveniently close to the trail. We were traveling in from separate locations and reached out to Nate and Jess to see if we could check in a little early. The communication was prompt and they did everything they could to accommodate. The house was very clean and had everything we needed. The pool table was a great addition as well! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay snd will look to stay here again on our next snowmobile trip in the U.P.

Fantastic space for all size groups
Visiting our MTU student with three carloads of people coming from 3 locations . We needed a place for the family pooch, a place to mingle, a place to make new memories. We loved the Red Door rental. The pool table was where we had some heated competition and then slid over to watch some serious sports on tv. Plenty of space for everyone and a gorgeous kitchen to eat and plan our activities. We enjoyed the local restaurants and found the owners to be so kind and responsive. Looking forward to coming back again!

The property is exactly as described. It's centrally located and we did day trips throughout the UP. The house has everything one needs, laundry, really nice kitchen, large TV, internet.... I had a couple of questions when we first arrived, and Nate/Jessica responded immediately. It was great having the store across the street and they are open until 10:00pm! I would definitely stay there again!

Great place to stay for family or a group of friends. Very comfortable and clean. Nice location and convenient for day trips around the peninsula and surrounding area. Superette across the street in case you forget something and make sure you try their pasties. Appreciated the amenities especially the abundance of towels. Only reason did not give 5 stars on listing is there was no DVD and we had planned a movie night. Overall positive experience and will think about using again when in the area.

Excellent Time at Red Door Retreat
The property was excellent. Even though it was on a "busier" road, the traffic was never an issue. Nate was also very accommodating and added chain locks to the doors when I told him about our young son with is a flight risk due to ASD. We enjoyed our stay. I highly recommend and would definitely stay again.

Property was perfect for our needs. Nine of us (four generations ) enjoyed the location, convenience , cleanliness of the property , and friendliness of our host couple. The facility was well furnished and very well equipped. The game/family room allowed extra “elbow room” for our group and was well enjoyed by all.
