Jun 28, 2016 #### Un soggiorno suggestivo nel cuore del Barocco Abbiamo soggiornato a Modica per un we lungo, finalizzato alla visita delle principali attrattive barocche della Val di Noto e dintorni. Abbiamo optato per la Casa degli Avi attratti dalle foto e dalla possibilità di fermarci a dormire in un contesto "non convenzionale". La scelta si è rivelata azzeccata, sia per la logistica della nostra base (Ibla, Scicli, Noto e le spiagge di Montalbano sono tutte raggiungibili con brevi tragitti in macchina) che per la particolarità del nostro alloggio, interamente ricavato da una grotta e arredato in stile rustico. Svegliarsi in un contesto così diverso dal solito e fare la doccia in una nicchia scavata nella pietra è stata un'esperienza sicuramente unica! Buona anche la location, comoda per le escursioni a piedi nella parte alta della città di Modica e con tutti i servizi necessari (bar, market, farmacia...) a portata di mano. Nel complesso ci siamo trovati davvero bene e ci sentiamo quindi di consigliare sia la visita di questo splendido angolo d'Italia che il soggiorno presso la dimora degli avi. ##### Giuliana L. Il B&B si trova nella parte alta della città, a pochi minuti di auto dalle principali attrazioni. Con una breve e piacevole passeggiata si possono facilmente raggiungere il duomo di San Giorgio ed il convento di Santa Maria del Gesù. Nei pressi della struttura ci sono alcuni bar, un supermercato, diversi negozi di alimentari e un ristorante di buon livello, che abbiamo provato con soddisfazione. Non c'è parcheggio privato ma si riesce a lasciare l'auto senza problemi e la zona ci è parsa tranquilla e sicura, anche di notte. Il vero valore aggiunto è dato comunque dall'atmosfera che si respira all'interno delle Case degli Avi: gli alloggi e le aree comuni sono in gran parte ricavati all'interno di vecchie grotte, sapientemente ristrutturate e arredate con gusto in stile minimalista. La particolarità della sistemazione e la cortesia e disponibilità dei gestori hanno reso il nostro soggiorno davvero speciale! ##### Ermanno G. La location è una delle più suggestive di Modica con il medievale Castello dei Conti, la barocca Chiesa di San Giorgio ed il trecentesco Convento di Santa Maria del Gesù. La cura del dettaglio, l'atmosfera romantica degli ambienti e la gentilezza dello staff ne fanno una struttura unica, nel suo genere. I dolci fatti in casa, per degustazione, sono squisiti. "Vivere" in case estensione di grotte, è sicuramente un'esperienza unica che grazie a SI-Moutique è finalmente raggiungibile da chiunque. Abbiamo alloggiato nelle Case Donna Vannuzza e Donna Peppa, due diversi ambienti, completamente scavati nella roccia: il bagno, la camera da letto nel soppalco, una zona living con arredo essenziale di una volta. Materiali e complementi d'arredo sono originali, recuperati dalla tradizione locale e sapientemente restaurati. La tecnologia a disposizione è integrata con enorme discrezione permettendo di avere prese elettriche,riscaldamento, illuminazione soffusa e wi-fi. Ogni angolo della grotta è una scoperta, tutto curato nei minimi dettagli. Abbondano le candele a lentissima combustione che troverete accese al vostro arrivo nella grotta. Il massimo comfort in una dimora povera del XIV secolo. La degustazione che ci viene offerta all’arrivo è ricca, originale e genuina, poiché si compone di prodotti artigianali locali, con assaggi di latticini freschi e torte dolci e salate. This review was submitted before 2018 and has not been verified. ### 2/10 Terrible #### Iwona K., Palermo Jan 11, 2016 #### Bella ma glaciale Siamo un gruppo di 14 persone (11 adulti e 3 bambini), abbiamo trascorso il Capodanno 2015 alla scoperta delle bellezze della Val di Noto eleggendo Modica come base per il pernottamento. Purtroppo questa struttura non è stata all’altezza delle aspettative. La pietra viva delle pareti creava umidità nelle stanze che erano molto fredde, in alcune parti bagnate, in particolare nelle tre stanze al piano terra. Le ulteriori coperte e le stufette elettriche ( ottenute con non poca resistenza da parte dei proprietari) ci hanno permesso di superare le notti ma le lenzuola sono rimaste umide e di mattina indossavamo i vestiti altrettanto umidicci. Gli spazi a disposizione erano ridottissimi, la scala a chiocciola per il soppalco dove si trovava il letto era talmente stretta che con difficolta si saliva e scendeva. Gli arredi bellissimi nella loro tradizionale semplicità erano assolutamente non funzionali. Non c’erano le lampadine accanto al letto, per andare in bagno durante la notte o accendevi la luce centrale disturbando il coniuge o barcollavi nel buio. Il bagno era piccolissimo, senza possibilità di poggiare alcunché se non sul water. Ma più di tutto ci dispiaciuto l’atteggiamento non disponibile e non accogliente degli proprietari. Un sorriso e una parola di scusa possono fare tanto per cambiare la percezione del disagio. Non tornerò mai più e sconsiglio il soggiorno nei mesi invernali. ##### Iwona K. Nov 11, 2015 #### Luogo ricco di storia Abbiamo trascorso due notti presso il b&b in 4 (due adulti e due bambini). E' un posto molto particolare, una struttura che odora storia ma in cui, grazie ad una sapiente ristrutturazione, convivono il moderno e l'antico in perfetta armonia. Il piccolo appartamento è ben attrezzato, esteticamente molto bello. Molto gentili i gestori che ci hanno accolti con la focaccia tipica modicana appena sfornata e ci hanno guidati nel loro piccolo allestimento museale annesso agli appartamenti. Aug 31, 2015 #### Con passione e intelligenza, la casa degli avi La casa degli avi è un luogo carico di storia e di tradizione. L'accoglienza è eccellente e le narrazioni sono molto interessanti e in grado di riportarti al vivere di un tempo. Le camere sono molto belle nella loro essenzialità e il nostro soggiorno è stato molto piacevole, immerso nella splendida cornice di Modica.
