The Miami Design Shopping District is a pedestrian-friendly neighborhood, home to architectural marvels, innovative restaurants and upscale shopping. Browse showrooms and galleries, check out the stores of some of the world’s top luxury brands and choose from the district’s many eclectic dining venues.

Spend a few hours browsing the exquisite collections of upmarket brands, such as Prada, Cartier, Dior Homme and Louis Vuitton, all of whom have flagship stores here. Peruse stunning handbags at Versace, fine jewelry at Tiffany and Co. or gorgeous timepieces at Tag-Heuer. Imagine your perfect home as you browse the district’s numerous design showrooms, which display innovative kitchen layouts and creative lighting, among other interior ideas.

Look for Buckminster Fuller’s Fly’s Eye Dome, a distinctive street sculpture originally designed as a prototype for low-cost portable housing. See the experimental art on display at the Institute of Contemporary Art Miami and check out Iran Issa-Khan’s impressive photos at her local studio.

Purchase fine art at the FAAM auction house and view the work of Caribbean artists at the Haitian Heritage Museum. Create your own art walk and look for large-scale outdoor pieces, such as Vortex and John Baldessari’s Fun series.

Take a break at one of the many wonderful dining venues found in the district, which is well-known for its forward-thinking restaurants, as well as its exceptional wineries and chocolatiers. Enjoy an affogatoand a pastry at a cozy coffee shop or a Greek salad in a sunny courtyard. Choose from Spanish pintxos, shareable tapas or fine French cuisine.

Check the district’s official website to find out what special events are taking place during your visit. Attend a wine tasting, film screening or lecture.

The Miami Design Shopping District is located just north of downtown and 5 miles (8 kilometers) from Miami International Airport. Get here by public transport or drive and take advantage of on-street parking.
