"Nice location close to UVM campus-- walkable in nice weather. Staff was nice but I found sort of hard to know what to do once inside. Never having gone to a Bed and breakfast place before. Water and coffee hard to get in evening. Beautiful solarium room. Our room was clean, great decor, but weirdly light bulbs missing in the sconce lighting in bedroom and bathroom. Fireplace switch was so hard to find to turn off we had to Call maintenance. ( not the first one to do it so why not make it...

"This is a lovely old Inn. We found that there was not good lighting to read in our room and just one chair. As the weather was poor It would have been nice to spend time reading. Ther is a couch downstairs that we could have used. "

"I was VERY lucky to find a room at Lareau Farm Inn a week before the solar eclipse on April 8th, and at a most reasonable price. My luck aside, we enjoyed the rustic decor and settings of this inn; we especially appreciated the hospitality of the staff and the yummy cook-to-order breakfast offerings included. "

House is very old and only drawback (which is original to the house and should not be changed!) is the bar/latch style door handles. The Violet Room has its private bathroom across the hall landing, but if you get up in the night as we do, you do make a lot of noise rattling those handles!
