Charming house, room needs to up the charm factor
While the overall house is majestic, our room lacked the charm expected at B&Bs. The decor was minimal, the towels, linens and toiletries no different than a regular hotel. It was the most underwhelming B&B stay that I can recall out of at least 12 others in Florida. Breakfast quiche was Ok, but sausage a bit strong.

Cattle on the front lawn
We happened upon the Herlong B & B by chance. We were attending a wedding in Salt Springs Florida. Home preserved beautifully and the breakfasts were terrific.

When a party stays for two nights, the room should be cleaned both days including fresh towels and bath items. That said, it was the nicest B&B we ever stayed at, beautiful and immaculate with excellent breakfast and friendly, helpful staff. Cookies and wine at night, always wells stocked. Walking distance to a lot of shops. Highly recommend.

During the Covid pandemic, we did away with automatic room refreshes, and have since maintained that practice for a few reasons. One of the points we communicate to guests in our confirmation email is about room refreshes: We are always happy to refresh your room upon request. I am sorry that this information wasn't made more clear to you. Beautiful & Comfortable
We had such an amazing time at Herlong. It was our first time staying at a B&B. We were comfortable and breakfast was delicious. Definitely a great stay!

Staying at the Herlong Mansion is something I always look forward to when driving to or from South Florida! The house and gardens are beautiful, the staff is friendly, and the breakfasts are always a treat! The town of Micanopy is charming and fun too.

It would be nice to have a comfortable chair or place to sit while dressing. My wife found the wooden chairs less than ideal. We enjoyed the absence of TV and really enjoyed spending time on the porches engaged in lively conversation with other guests. All said, great experience. Dave & Rita Young

It was like taking a step back in time… very quaint and the staff was lovely. Lots of areas nearby to explore. Tasty breakfast too! We were in the Pump House and loved the private setting.

Our 14 yr Anniversary get away.
Our stay at the Herlong Mansion was wonderful. Beautiful place and walking distance to lots of antique shops and places to eat. Our breakfast at the Herlong with those delicious homemade lemon thumb prints was amazing.
