Days Inn by Wyndham Melbourne

10/10 Excellent
"The room was clean and everything was in good working order. I was able to park almost right next to my room. One car was noisy near my room in the night, but I was able to fall asleep after the noise. The free breakfast was similar to almost every other hotel free breakfast in the country, which means it is very unhealthy. I try to avoid grains (read Wheat Belly or Grain Brain), reduce gluten intake, minimize sugar intake, and avoid excess carbs, which means I could not eat the bread or the waffles or the cereal. I'm also avoiding oatmeal, especially when they add sugar to it. I mostly avoid orange juice, because it has a lot of natural sugar without the fiber. (I hear it's better to eat an orange than to drink orange juice.) I have been in 35 countries, and I have found that in some countries the free breakfast is really good. But in the U.S., you will almost never get a good breakfast without paying for it. I think there is too much competition in the hotel business, where customers will choose a different hotel if it is $5 cheaper. I wish the American public would realize what they are doing to their bodies by eating these kinds of foods and demand something better. Refuse to eat unhealthy foods. Maybe someday hotels will offer good quality food instead of all the cheap stuff. Advertise a free continental breakfast, and also have a paid option. I would gladly pay $10 for a quality breakfast! It doesn't have to be included in the price of the room."
