Forfaits vacances – Comté de Mecklenburg

The property itself was very nice and the few staff I interacted with were nice however worst experience ive ever had. I made reservation back in November through hotels.com. I called the hotel 4 days prior to checkin to make sure they updated my guest info to 3 guests and asked for confirmation that I had the suite with King bed and other room with sofa bed and dining table. They said I had to go thru hotels.com and they couldn't talk to me. OK..i went through hotels.com messaging on website to message the property. I got a message back saying "this is confirmed see you soon". We check in open the door and we have a tiny standard room with a queen bed. I call front desk saying this is an issue and the same person who checked me in now tells me they were sold out and needed my room and be cause I booked through a 3rd party they had the right to change my room. I was shocked and said I have three adults that I confirmed this week and was told all was confirmed. 1 person will be sleeping in the floor. I asked if I had ti still pay the $450 rate she said yes. Nothing she could do. I started saying no way this is crazy..she then offers a credit of $60 and some points cause im away hikton honors member..oh boy. I say im going to need extra bedding and nothing gets sent. I calmly go downstairs request a sheet and blanket and they send me 2 blankets. There is more but im out of characters..i called GM next am after I got a bill with no credit and double parking..got 210 credit

Bottom line, would I stay here again? Yes, now that I've been through the check in process but that was an absolute headache the first time around. Also, apartment complex isn't very well kept up on the outside. Walkways were very dirty and the area was a bit run down. The inside of the apartment was pretty clean though and I had no issues with anything inside and it was a comfortable stay. The issue with check in is A LOT of miscommunication. First off, the address repeatedly given to me in texts and emails was for the head office, NOT the actual apartment unit. The head office knew about the Landing rentals but sent me to the wrong building in the very large complex. I finally go the correct address when on my 5th or so call to Landing, I was given a PDF via email that I was told should have been provided automatically. Second, I was also told, repeatedly that there was a key box in the walkway that I would enter a code into and that would give me the key to the apartment. I did find one of those boxes like they put on homes being sold so realtors can access the property but none of the codes sent to me would open it. Turns out, the multiple codes I was sent, over multiple calls wasn't for this at all, there is actually a digital lock on the door to the unit. ADDITIONALLY, the codes sent wouldn't have worked for that either! I was sent multiple 4 digit codes, the door takes a 7 digit code. I'm like 6 calls in at this point!!! WTH??

The apartment was so nice and clean. It was a little confusing on how to get to the unit but the host was very respectful and helpful via call/text message throughout the entire stay. I will definitely be looking for more Landing properties to stay at.
