We loved this place! Very unique, modern, clean, historic and close to everything. Upon arrival it was hard to find. Very little sign showing direction to hotel but we found it! Get lost looking for it because we ran into a lot of things to see along our search for the hotel. Owners speak very little English but made it feel authentic. They made us a great breakfast every morning. Beds and pillows were comfy! Parking was safe and available right in front of the front door entrance during our stay. Close to everything we didn't need to move the car for the two days. We stayed in room #2 upstairs and have no complaints. The shower is not for people taller then 5'9 but very nice, clean, unique concept. You share a living area with three other rooms. I believe there's 4 total. It was an awesome experience as we met local traveling Italian families on their vacays. Surprisingly very quite and had no clue there was 8 other people below us. Highly recommend staying here. Loved the little window as we woke up to it snowing.

Hotel Lamia, Materia
Lamia is excellent location near to the Sassis and old town. Using Waze we found the hotel easily - it’s off Via Lucena. Rooms are well appointed and v clean. Hosts are helpful and able to give plenty of local info. We had super stay and enjoyed Matera v much.

Super Clean , wonderful hosts , modern but tastefully done , excellent location , difficult to find , check with owner before attempting to find Ricolte Via Lucana which is Cul de Sac and Via Lucana is a very long road. Highly recommend ,

Excellent, clean, comfortable, interesting accommodations in a great location. The room was beautiful and had everything we needed and more. The owners couldn’t have been nicer or more helpful. Great, homemade breakfast with fresh, regional specialties. Highly recommended!

Excellent Trip to Matera
Pippo was an excellent host. Using Google translate between the two of us hit the mark and we were definitely able to communicate. Accommodations in the grotto room were great... even for someone that is 6’2”. Breakfast was good and was a taste of Matera. Recommendations for lunch/dinner out in town were great. Appreciate Pippo explaining the city and showing us a great route to take to see the sites. Recommended.

The property was well located just a few steps away from the historic district. Tucked into a small alleyway off Via Lucano, it was a little hard to find at first, but you're rewarded with a wonderfully restored house. I was in Room 3, which was two levels -- bath/sitting room up, bed/desk down in a lovely barrel-vaulted space. The design was very modern, quiet, and comfortable. Staff simply couldn't be nicer -- felt so welcome -- and Lamia has a lovely breakfast offering, particularly for such a small place.

Nice clean modern hotel, staff are very kind.
The staff allowed me to check in early since I arrived in Matera at 11am. The owner is very friendly even though he doesn't speak English. The room is very clean and modern. I will stay in this hotel again!

The B&B is very well located near the historic center. Pippo is a great host, he spent time explaining where all the main attractions were. Breakfast is also very good with fresh products sourced locally. Highly recommended.

La struttura si trova in zona centrale, perfetta per chi viaggia in macchina avendo parcheggio a disposizione a pochi metri, molto ben curata e graziosa, Pippo è estremamente gentile e disponibile e saprà darvi molte indicazioni utili, colazione varia con prodotti di ottima qualità

Exclusives Privatquartier mitten in Matera
Sehr schwer zu finden, auch nicht mit Navigation, gelang nur mit Hilfe eines netten Einheimischen; mit einem größeren Auto ist nur der bewachte Parkplatz (€ 5/24h) in ca 150 m Entfernung zu empfehlen, vor der Unterkunft sehr begrenzter Platz - kaum zum Umdrehen; Zimmer sehr ausgefallen und geschmackvoll ausgestattet; Achtung: in der Junior Suite ist das Bad im 1. Stock und nur über eine schmale Eisentreppe erreichbar (nichts für ältere Menschen)! Sehr gut funktionierende Klimaanlage, hartes Bett, der Patrone sehr bemüht. Das Frühstück italienisch, aber reichhaltig! Ins Zentrum von Matera sind es nur wenige Gehminuten !

El sitio excelente. Impecable, cómodo, acogedor. El servicio de Pippo, quien lo maneja es increíble. El desayuno delicioso!!!! Ubicado estratégicamente a 3 cuadras del ingreso al centro histórico de Matera, que además es imperdible. Excelente opción!!!!! Lo recomendaría al 100.

Petit hôtel très propre, petit déjeuner copieux et de qualité .. et surtout un accueil d’exception : nos hôtes se plient en 4 pour nous satisfaire et à titre d’exemple ont réussi à me trouver un rv avec un médecin spécialisé en quelques heures un lendemain de 15 août ! Niveau de services 5 étoiles, merci 🙏

Alle porte di Matera
Il B&b si trova poco prima dell’inizio del centro storico, la posizione è comoda anche per parcheggiare. La nostra camera “grotta” era molto accogliente e pulita, il soffitto è un po’ basso ma ci si adatta. Pippo, il proprietario, è un super ospite!

Confortable comme à la maison
Séjour de 2 nuits. Chambre confortable, très bien située à deux pas du centre ville de Matera. Des places gratuites aux environs, à moins de 100 mètres de l'établissement. Beaucoup de possibilités de restauration à proximité. Tout les équipements sont neufs et fonctionnels. Le petit déjeuner, à base de produits locaux et frais, est délicieux. Merci encore à notre hôte et à son épouse pour leur accueil et leur cordialité.

La stanza riservata aveva il soffitto poco più alto della mia testa e il bagno era alle spalle del letto aldilà di un vetro e l'ambiente era ancora più basso. Un loculo imbarazzante. Siamo scappati.

Eine kleine Unterkunft, welche von einer Familie mit toller Herzlichkeit geführt wird. Wir wurden super empfangen und jeden morgen mit einem sehr guten Frühstück verwöhnt. Alle waren sehr hilfsbereit und haben uns zu einem tollen Kurzaufenthalt in Matera verholfen!

Ospitalità, pulizia e comfort.
E' composto da sole quattro stanze, tutte molto carine (il proprietario prima di partire ce le ha mostrate tutte) e diverse tra loro. Una cosa in comune: la pulizia ed il comfort! Io che ho spesso problemi di schiena ho riposato meravigliosamente. Oltretutto è in una posizione perfetta per visitare i sassi ma allo stesso tempo molto silenziosa visto che non ci sono strade di transito nelle adiacenze dell'albergo. Il proprietario è una persona deliziosa e molto disponibile, la mattina prepara una colazione favolosa con torte sfornate dalla moglie e ricotta appena fatta. Assolutamente consigliato!

la cortesia , l'affabilità e le informazioni di Pippo, persona entusiasta della sua città, hanno reso la nostra visita a Matera molto bella. la camera nuova con tutto quanto necessario e la colazione con prodotti genuini locali hanno reso ancora più gradevole il soggiorno. la posizione è comoda per poter arrivare a piedi in tutti i siti più importanti.

A modern take on the old Matera
A very interesting experience to stay in a modern room, but designed like it was for ancient times. We liked that. Pippo the host is very friendly and nice, and we communicated easily, sometimes through the google translate app. We would love to come back.

Stylische Unterkunft in Matera
Sehr schön renoviertes Appartement in einem alten Speichergebäude, Kontrast zwischen dem warmen Stein und modernen, weißen Möbeln / Einrichtung, clever gelöste mehrstöckige Raumanordnung. Frühstück von der Menge überschaubar, aber von allem etwas dabei und frisch zubereitet. Ruhig und wenige Minuten von den Sassi entfernt.
