"When we arrived, I told the gentleman at the desk that we needed to shorten our stay by one night. He said that he could not nor would not do anything. The next morning I told a young lady the same thing and she said she would talk to the manager. I explained that Hotels.com would not change the reservation, but told me to ask the hotel to shorten it, and if the hotel approved, we would be reimbursed by Hotels.com. The second morning of my stay, I went to the front desk, and there was a different young lady. I asked her if I had received a reply from the manager, and the young lady had left me a note saying the manager would not approve. I asked the young woman to please talk to the manager again, and my husband and I left for another hotel booked through Hotels.com. At the next hotel, the manager told us that as long as we stayed one night, they would approve a refund for any time our stay was shortened. I am not a person who likes to bash establishments, and I am quick to forgive. This should have been a busy time with the quilt show, but they kept our money and probably rented out our room and got paid twice. That is just part of the stay. Our toilet backed up on the second day.
