We were right in front of our private beach and you could snorkel right there! This place was awesome. I was looking to chill out and do nothing other then sip on drinks, eat delicious home cooked meals and surf all day…. and I got exactly that! It’s exactly what I needed after months of traveling solo. The personal cabins on the waterfront were absolutely picture perfect. The islands were easy to navigate to and from. Never ran into any issues and the staff were always around to help. It’s a good fun environment, the best surfing and super affordable!! Definitely will return many more times. We were warmly welcomed and recognized when we came back a week later. Loved the huts right on the water, the delicious homecooked meals, and the surf we could access via boat with ease. Super relaxing vibe, good price and community feel. It is a budget resort in close proximity to an amazing surf break . The sleeping quarters are very basic . They were kind enough to accommodate my dietary needs. We really enjoyed the snorkeling. Pool was clean. Fans really cooled off the room; lack of A/C was not an issue. Cons: Organizing boat trips for the off-island activities was a bit more challenging than I thought, and punctuality was an issue. We learned that the schedule is catered more to the needs of surfers. Sometimes I felt like I was bothering the staff members when I asked questions. But overall, our week at Funky Fish was super fun. Not pretentious and where many nice and easy going people gather. Malolo is also a beautiful island and from the property you can reach Mt Silo and have a stunning view.
