![This is called Butterfly Gorge. It is quite off the beaten track and took us about an hour to get there. On the way we stopped at a tiny outdoor grill restaurant and had the BEST souvlaki of our trip and coke out of a glass bottle. Sometimes it's fun to get lost. The walk through the gorge is long so bring water and good shoes. "Have been going to Greece last 25 years, mainly because of Greek hospitality.. this time (first time in this hotel) was everything but hospitality.. staff simple didn’t care about guests at all.. every morning debate at breakfast what is included and what isn’t.. ‘rules’ changing every day, mistakes happening all the time.. charged twice for same thing, never had cold water (35 degrees outside), etc etc on the beach, sun beds outdated, old more than ten years, falling a part.. waiting for waiter...

"The area around this hotel felt a bit questionable. The property itself is definitely older. Parking was limited to the front desk and one visitor spot, and street parking isn’t an option without risking a fine. The room was fairly clean, though the rug was quite old and could use replacement. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful."

![This is called Butterfly Gorge. It is quite off the beaten track and took us about an hour to get there. On the way we stopped at a tiny outdoor grill restaurant and had the BEST souvlaki of our trip and coke out of a glass bottle. Sometimes it's fun to get lost. The walk through the gorge is long so bring water and good shoes. "I had a really excellent stay at Avra Hotel. Fantastic staff who was really quick to to have everything in order. They made 100% sure everything is convenient, clean, wonderful. Mr. Theodor ist an amazing receptionist, the best tour guide who gave me the best tips to discover Peraia and Thessaloniki. I will never forget him and his charismatic, honest style. He speaks fluent German, English and probably other languages as well. He makes amazing Frappe, I got several coffees on the house. If you're looking for great prices and amazing services - this is it. You also have bus stations close by so you can always visit Thessaloniki in an hour. Thank you, dear staff of Avra Hotel. First time in my life I felt "at home" by a hotel. 10/10, I will be back next time I visit Greece."
