Top Majadas Hotel Reviews

Hotel 4* Parque de Monfragüe

10/10 Excellent

"The staff were very helpful, the room was a good size and bathroom products were available. The hotel was very accommodating for our dog. The evening meal was delicious and very good value, as was the breakfast which had a good choice of hot and cold items. The location is stunning and we wished we had more time to explore to admire the views and local nature."

Hospedium Hotel Doña Mafalda de Castilla

8/10 Good

"We stayed for two nights travelling to our destination and two nights a fortnight later on the way back. On both occasion there was no evening meals available due to closure of resturant. This was a bind as it meant driving into town, then walking around looking for somewhere to eat, most places being shut on Mondays and Tuesdays. Apart from that the hotel was a good stop off for a couple of nights."

Casa Rural el Rincón de Monfragüe

10/10 Excellent

"The hotel and hotel staff were excellent. The breakfast is outstanding! Our only issue was with Hotels.com who sent us several messages from the hotel highlighting trips and visits we could take. The did not pass on requests from the hotel to confirm our arrival time. As they did not have our telephone number, they could not contact us directly so this took a while to resolve."

Balneario Valle del Jerte

10/10 Excellent

"I stayed for business trip and the staff were very welcoming and helpful to me from when I arrived. My Spanish is not great but were always helpful to try and help or accommodate me. Breakfast was good and the evening buffet meals had variety of choice. Many of the guests clearly visit for the pool and spa facilities, as well as hiking trials and cycling routes in the area. I did not have time for this but had an enjoyable stay and would return due to the practical location and friendly staff."

Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Majadas?

The best area to stay in Majadas is within the town itself, particularly around the central Plaza de España, for those seeking convenience and a local experience.

This central area of Majadas offers a glimpse into local life. You'll find a selection of small shops, traditional eateries, and the town's main church, all within easy walking distance of the square. It's a compact and accessible spot, making it easy to stroll around and get a feel for the community.

For couples looking for a tranquil escape with easy access to nature, staying just outside the main town, perhaps in a rural guesthouse or a 'casa rural,' is an excellent option. These accommodations often provide more space, privacy, and direct access to the scenic countryside, great for walks and enjoying the natural beauty of Extremadura. Many are located amongst olive groves or offer views of the distant Sierra de Gredos mountains.

When is the best time to go to Majadas?

The best time to visit Majadas, Extremadura, is during spring (April to June) and autumn (September to October) when the weather is most pleasant for exploring.

During these months, you'll find comfortable temperatures, typically ranging from 18°C to 28°C, making it ideal for outdoor activities like hiking, birdwatching, and exploring the natural landscapes of the Monfragüe National Park. The countryside is particularly beautiful in spring, with wildflowers in bloom, and in autumn, with the changing colours of the cork oaks and olive groves. This period is great for couples looking for a romantic getaway or nature enthusiasts seeking to experience the region's biodiversity.

Summer (July and August) can be very hot, with temperatures often exceeding 35°C, which might be less comfortable for extended outdoor excursions. However, if you're planning a trip focused on relaxation by a pool or enjoying the local gastronomy in the evenings, summer can still be an enjoyable time.

Winter (November to March) brings cooler temperatures, usually between 5°C and 15°C, and more rainfall. While it's a quieter time to visit and can offer a different, peaceful perspective of the region, some outdoor activities might be limited by the weather.
