"Gite des acacias is only 10min drive from the airport in a quiet area. There is no phone reception there, but Wifi is available. We took the diner option and were offered a traditional creole dinner. Given that the best area to go and have diner is Mahebourg, about 20min drive, it is better to go for the dinner at theirs. "1st night no hot water. Geyser didn’t work. Aircons don’t work. Cockroaches in room. No soaps, shampoo, etc. They don’t accept cards and only told me this when I wanted to settle my bill the night prior to check out. The owner insisted on me walking almost 2km to go withdraw cash at 9pm. Which was a major inconvenience. I will never stay there again. NEVER!!!"

"The stay was super spacious with a great outdoor covered patio. We were able to make last minute arrangements to stay an extra day when our flights were delayed because of cyclone Freddy. We felt very safe in the home. Location is a short drive to Mahebourg. Didn’t get a chance to enjoy the pool but it certainly looked inviting!"

"We would give this 4.5 if we could... The location on the water is amazing and its a really easy walk in to town and a five minute drive to two fantastic beaches. The view and garden is great even if the sea isnt really for swimming in. The hosts were also great and really nice. The only downside is the house is definitely starting to need a little updating... Its a little 'rustic' etc. Still nice though!"
