This hotel is set in a truly beautiful setting, in a very elevated hilltop location.
The hotel is relatively new, and has some wonderful aspects about it, but... there are elements that frankly feel like it hasn’t quite ‘grown into’ its aspirations yet.
The reception staff were excellent, as were the cleaning staff. But bar and restaurant staff were a mixture of good and bad though.
At first glance the fixtures and fittings are stylish and stunning, however the more you look in detail, the more you see things are just not quite ‘finished’ yet. Small silly things, such as lose taps, missing mastic/trims here and there, dirty windows, that sort of thing. And more staff training is required for some of the staff - it felt a bit like the hotel opened for the first time yesterday, with some staff not really totally knowing their job yet. Frustrating really as they are all minor things that would be easy to fix and maintain, to make this a really wonderful hotel.
In many ways the location overcomes the small niggles. But the owners have clearly spent a fortune developing this hotel and designing it in such a stylish way, it does seem such a shame to be let down at the final hurdle, with such silly minor things.
