« The shoreline here is really beautiful, with rugged rocks and boulders and sea cliffs. The views from the cottage are lovely. The kitchen is well stocked. A very nice coffee pot! Views from the main bedroom are great. Cottage is rounded by beautiful evergreens and there is a set of rocking chairs where you can enjoy the view. A walk down the shore brings you to caves in one direction and a rocky beach in the other direction. Machias is a great town with a terrific brewpub and Helen’s for pie! »

« Our trip coincided with the landfall of Hurricane Lee - Donna went above and beyond on getting us updates, suggestions and even offered us some flexibility on the rental dates. All ended up working out as planned and it was a fantastic stay. The place was as described and as expected. « Maine is our favorite place to be. This property was great. Tons of shade, a beautiful lake, dock, fire pit.. we had a blast. Even swam in a rainstorm and it was beautiful!! We visited Eastport and fell in love with a small little fishing town. Jasper beach was BEAUTIFUL even in the fog, such a special place. The location is VERY remote, which we frequently look for. A mid-point for exploring both Acadia/Bar Harbor and the Bold Coast - Quoddy Head, Lubec, Western Head Preserve and East Port. »

« Harlan is a very kind and helpful host. The house is comfortable and everything works. The best asset is the magnificent view and the swing on the porch, to admire it at all times. We really enjoyed Sandy River beach and walking to Bar island. We appreciated being away from the crowds, listening to the waves and the birds. If you are ok feeling like you are staying in somebody else's house, you will be able to enjoy it's charm. I felt like i was staying at my grand-parents' house. »
