A wonderful stay!
Had a wonderful stay at The Village Inn. Staff were polite and very friendly! We enjoyed our daily chats with Colin who was absolutely brilliant and accommodating during our stay. The rooms were clean, a good breakfast served every morning and a wonderful view from our room.

Not very impressed with welcome. Room was clean although quite dated. Not made clear about arriving back after 10.30pm. Doors were locked on my return, just as well I saw someone through the window!! No breakfast menu, although the food was good. Was not asked about whether I was ok with Dogs!! I have an allergy to pet hair so I was a bit concerned when confronted with a dog. Room was sufficient for what I wanted but didn’t feel very welcome.

The property was old but clean and the staff could not have been more helpful nothing was too much trouble.the food was excellent with a great choice, fresh seafood and local produce daily.surrounded by shops and the sea with lots of historic interest. We loved our time there.

Outdated concept. Whilst I have dogs, and this states it is a dog friendly hotel, there are limits to what is accepted as dog friendly. The hotel is tired and shabby and needs new life breathing into it. Amazing setting and could be so much better. The food is generous in portion but lacking in imagination. Breakfast was almost an inconvenience, no juice or cold beverages available. This hotel has such potential but it is lacking the TLC that it is screaming out for. The rooms are tired and in need of new décor and furniture, electrical sockets with plug pins stuck in them, TV that is almost unwatchable due to height and incorrect brackets, hallways are stuffy and cluttered, the bar is unkempt and uninviting. The staff, whilst trying their best to accommodate the customers, are struggling to maintain it's future on character alone. This is such a beautiful building in the centre of a major tourist attraction but most people would just walk by uninterested.

Comfy traditional inn with view of sea. On centre of Lynmouth. Friendly staff. Excellent breakfast. Pub downstairs v friendly. Huge portions at dinner. Comfy bed.

Good Hotel in a good location
Old pub in a great location. Very friendly owner and staff. Great breakfast. Because it is an old building don't expect to much and you will enjoy it.

Good choice for overnight stop over
A good overnight stay in the Village Inn, our hosts made us very welcome and the room we had was fine. Breakfast also good but more veggie options would have been welcome. Would recommend to travellers passing through such as we were on the coast path

The worst b& b we have ever stayed at
It was truly awful, the room was glum, dirty, mouldy in many places, the window was full of mould and peeling paint with the curtains full of mould on the linings. Carpets dirty and worn, shower head hanging off and tiles mouldy. Bed clean but the sheet had blood spot stains on it. Pair of worn mens underpants found in cupboard! The tea/coffee was undrinkable, not sure if milk was off/old tea or water not good but tasted bad. The smell everywhere was just chips and frying from the kitchen below and the carpets were tacky. Paid for two nights but only stayed the one night and just left - how any b & b could offer a room like the one we had was beyond us. Will never return there.

Clean room but could really do with updating Fact it was above a pub meant that the owners should not encourage families who may not want to be up past midnight with chattering going on downstairs Our room was close to the kitchen although there were nearer and I'll expect a deep fat fried smell would have permeated through out Great location in the middle of the village the food was the worst of the three places that we tried typical pub grub really Very welcoming for dogs and a good base to explore the surrounding area

Staying at The Village Inn.
The landlord was great fun, he made everyone welcome. The rooms were spotless and comfortable and the food was terrific (huge portions) it was a lady chef and she certainly new her business. The evening entertainment was fab and it was an all round pleasurable two nights stay.

Long weekend break
3 day stay, to take in some walking and sightseeing. Also to visit the West Somerset Railway. The Village is a local pub, with a very friendly atmosphere with good beers and excellent food.
