Exceptional service in the current times, staff were welcoming and friendly.
Enjoyed an excellent burger with chips in the bar, (un) socially distanced of course, very reasonably priced, a welcome change of what's on offer at the moment.
Only observation is that the rooms could do with a bit of attention, they are looking a bit tired in places, only one of the three uplighters in my room were working, the loo cistern would not fill up which I quickly fixed but will ultimately need looking at and the hand soap dispenser was empty which reception gave me a packet to fit myself, so no big issue but ideally should have been checked.
I also had to release a few field spiders which given the semi rural location is not surprising, but a quick check and clean before arrival would have been useful and set a better impression.
Only other minor issue is that there were no plug sockets near the bedside, which is a must have to charge devices in the 21st century.
Despite the downsides I would have no hesitation in staying again.
