Fabulous House in Rural Andalucia for Serious R&R

We were a party of 9 staying end of August. The villa was more than adequate for a party of that size and felt very safe for younger and older children. The villa itself was well thought out with different seating areas- in the house and around the pool. The kitchen was well equipped and sofas/beds comfortable. Lovely decor. The pool area was fabulous and had the most comfortable sunbeds ever and various seating areas to lounge out of direct sun too. Location wise the villa is isolated and most trips out to Granada, Cordoba and Malaga do involve a 30 minute drive down the mountain before you hit the main roads. That said there is a village 5 mins away with a supermarket and restaurant. Loja is the nearest town and has many large supermarkets. We though Lidl was by far the best for choice, quality of fresh food and price. Dont think Lidl Uk, it felt more upmarket than that. the benefits of the location though were amazing views, spectacular sunsets and space. We ran and cycled when we were there and felt safe. It was lovely to run with such lovely views. also to mention that for me, who gets bitten all over on every holiday and take every anti mosquito resource available, there was a refreshing lack of them and the only bites we got were in Cordoba and then only a couple, In the mornings and evenings there is a wonderful breeze flowing through the house so sleeping at night was not an issue as things did cool down even if it had been 35 degrees outside. Simply though this is a wonderful villa . You can get away from it all and also travel to some great local towns and onto cities further away. if this is your type of holiday you will love this villa. …We were a party of 9 staying end of August. We zijn al vaak in Andalusie geweest maar dit was de tweede keer met Ruralidays. Wederom een mooie ervaring rijker en veel plezier gehad in Loja. Het was erg leuk om eens te slapen in een soort van grot. Van alle gemakken en heerlijke slaapvertrekken voorzien, maken dit huisje tot een unieke belevenis. Ook buiten is het heerlijk vertoeven bij het mooie zwembad en bij de vele plekjes waar je kunt zitten of liggen. De 5 kittens die af en toe komen aanwaaien geven het perceel een wat extra huiselijke sfeer. Op een drie kwartier rijden kun je het mooie Grenada bezoeken. Een mooie grote stad waar je in 1 dag eigenlijk niet alles kunt zien. Je zou er eigenlijk een nachtje in een hotel moeten boeken om even echt te kunnen genieten van alle culturele en culinaire uitdagingen die deze stad te bieden heeft. Loja centrum ligt op een paar minuten rijden van het huisje af. Boodschappen doen, ontbijtje, etentje enz is binnen handbereik. De grootste tip die ik kan geven, is in contact te blijven met José Antonio. Van alle keren dat we huisjes hebben gehuurd, is José wel de meest vriendelijke en behulpzame eigenaar geweest. De lekkerste restaurantjes en leukste bestemminkjes weet hij je kenbaar te maken met zijn Google translator. Als je ervoor openstaat, kun je van alles te weten komen over Loja en omgeving. Fantastische kerel. Al met al was het een topbestemming en kunnen we iedereen aanraden om hier te boeken.
