If we could provide a rating of more than five stars, we would! From the moment we pulled up to Fuchsia Cottage we knew we had found THE perfect place for our Irish holiday.
We can't say enough about the breathtaking beauty of the setting that offers sweeping views of the Cliffs of Moher, the Aran Islands, and the Burren. The house itself is more than we could have hoped for ~ it offers all the modern amenities (including a clothes dryer which was greatly appreciated after getting completely soaked during a windswept, rainy hike :) while retaining the charm of its Irish heritage. We loved nothing more than returning to our "home away from home" and relaxing in front of the wonderfully aromatic peat fire. There are so many lovely touches throughout the house ~ warm throws on the backs of each couch, locally created artwork adorning the walls, the clever use of an authentic grain bin and scale for holding firewood ~ all thoughtfully placed to create the ambience of being in the home of a dear friend.
Despite the demands of running their own award-winning bed and breakfast in nearby Doolin, Marian and Frank were attentive and gracious hosts. In the weeks before we arrived, Marian warmly welcomed us and made herself available for any questions we might have about the area.
We eagerly look forward to coming back to County Clare, the Wild Atlantic Way, and the many charms of Fuchsia Cottage.
