Milwaukee’s Lakefront Brewery is committed to quality and innovation in brewing, without compromising the taste of good old-fashioned ale. Check out this dynamic brewery’s headquarters on the Milwaukee River and find out about the delicious brews that brothers Russ and Jim Klisch have created since the brewery’s founding in 1987. Taste beers named after Milwaukee’s neighborhoods and go on an informative tour of the brewery to get an insight into the local brewers’ day-to-day operations.
Stroll along the Milwaukee Riverfront to appreciate the scale of the large brewery. Join a guided tour to go behind the scenes and learn about the brewing process. The brewery’s certified-organic beer was first launched in 1996 and is brewed today with organic hops grown in Wisconsin. You might sample other Wisconsin-grown flavors, such as the Door County cherries used in the seasonal Lakefront Cherry Lager. The brewery achieved acclaim for its gluten-free beer, which was officially the first on the market in America.
Go through your tasting selections with your guide and learn about the different aromas. Check out the grain silos and the bottling line. Home-brewing enthusiasts and curious beer-drinkers will love the specialty technical tour, which is held on Sundays. Get in-depth expertise on the procedures and equipment used by the brewery before concluding with a delicious food pairing of Lakefront beers and local cheese, meat, fruit, coffee and chocolate.
If you’re still hungry or thirsty, stop by the Brewery Beer Hall to choose a meal off the restaurant’s daily menu. Pick from seasonal brews or traditional favorites at the bar. Check out the gift shop to pick up Lakefront Brewery merchandise, as well as gift cards and souvenirs.
