The property was amazing. Set in the Adirondack mountains, it was cozy and magical. Awesome old house and beautiful surroundings. Meghen and Tyler are friendly kind people who throw down a killer breakfast! Can’t wait to go back!!!
This was exactly what Ruth and I wanted. A very clean modern well equipped cabin in the quietness of the woods . A Place that provided a local grown fantastic breakfast and comfortable accommodations away from busy life of a town or city.
A small privately owned place owned by young couple that believes in living a life in harmony with all life on our planet.
Our stay at the bark eater was awesome!! Tyler and Meghan made us feel like we at home 😊 They also cooked a wonderful breakfast each morning!! Great place to stay when visiting the ADK. We will definitely be back
Wonderful quiet location, views, garden, grounds, trails, rooms, porch and healthy breakfast buffet add up to a special getaway for any season, worth repeating! Fresh in all the right ways. Even filled with history and lore. And expanding into private cabin options.
This was our second visit and we had, once again, an exceptional time! Meghan and Tyler are hospitable innkeepers who care about their guests. The rooms are always immaculate and the breakfast is always farm to fork and delicious! If you like beautiful surroundings, fresh mountain air, and a great value, this is the best kept secret of all.
We stumbled across the Bark Eater via a Google search, and we feel so fortunate to have found a comfortable, relaxing, and beautiful place to spend part of our road trip vacation of the Northeast.
Our hosts, Meghan and Tyler, and their staff, were welcoming and provided recommendations for things to do and places to eat, and they made us feel welcome to enjoy the many trails and the gardens on the Inn's grounds, as well as the common areas in the inn. We spent a morning walking on the meadow trails, and it proved to be a magical experience to walk through wildflowers with butterflies dancing above our heads. We relaxed further by playing board games on the screen porch one evening.
The inn itself is newly renovated, with fresh and clean decor, and the breakfasts were delicious. We are still dreaming about Meghan's dish of eggs poached in tomatoes and herbs.
The location is perfect - close enough to Lake Placid to see the sights, but far enough away to avoid the tourist scene. It's also an easy drive to hikes and other natural areas in the Adirondacks, as well as visits to quaint towns in the area.
We have already recommended the Bark Eater to friends and family, and we hope to make a return visit at some point soon
We have been staying here for years and wouldn't go anywhere else. It is so beautiful, quiet, peaceful, relaxing and clean. The breakfasts are so fresh and made with local products. Truly farm to table.
Meghan and Tyler were amazing. Getting away from the hustle and bustle of the city and staying in the one room cabin was an absolute rejuvenation for us. Can't wait to book our next visit!!!
The location is stunning and one of my favorite spots in the Adks. The inn is newly renovated and the innkeepers are the best. Much of the greens as other veggies are grown organically on the property. Highly recommend.
My husband and I spent 3 days hiking in the High Peaks. BarkEater Inn was conveniantly just a few minutes away from the trails. Meghan and Tyler, the hosts, were very flexible about our requests making sure that our experience was memorable! They are sweet people and proud of their own paradise that they enjoy sharing with us.
Nights were calm and quiet and we felt like we slept on a cloud in the soft quilt and bed.
Breakfast was generous, flavorful and varied from day to day.
We had plenty of spaces to relax : either on the screened porch, in a chair under a tree, in the living room by a fire or in the confortable chair in our room or away, by their artificial lake, a short walk further.
We willl certainly return for another stay as everythig was simply perfect!
Thanks to our hosts!
The place is so beautiful, and the kindness and warmth exudes from both the inn and Meghan and Tyler.
I would recommend this place for anyone's stay in the area.
We stayed at the Bark Eater for a long weekend, and it was absolutely wonderful - definitely one of the best places I've stayed, and we travel a lot. Meghan and Tyler are warm and welcoming hosts who make you feel at home, and give you lots of space to go about your business. We loved the room and the bed, the delicious breakfast every day, living room with cozy fireplace, and the trails around the B&B, which were lovely for a morning walk. I would highly recommend this B&B for anyone looking to relax and be taken care of on a beautiful farm property.
A lovely Inn, perfect for our winter weekend getaway.
We truly enjoyed our winter weekend at the Bark Eater Inn. Meghan and Tyler went out of their way to make our stay cozy and warm. Breakfast was delicious and different each morning, with a bonus treat to take on our hikes. We are definitely going to book the Inn again and will recommend it to all our friends.
