"Nice quiet get away place. Beautiful porch that opens from your room to sit and enjoy a sunset or start the day with coffee and a sunrise looking out over the lake. Rooms are good size and comfortable. Amenities were available as needed. Highly recommend!"

Lake Champlain Cottage w/ Private Deck & Fire Pit!
10/10 Excellent
"I can only echo what others have already said. The cottage was charming, clean, and appointed with many. lovely touches. The home is not large, but the useful space has been deliberately and cleverly maximized. And, while it was partially a working vacation, my "office" in the dining area, with windows overlooking the lake on three sides, often made it hard to focus on my computer screen. (I didn't really mind.) The deck is vacation destination in and of itself, with views that can't be beat. They didn't have to add the beautiful climbing flowering plants, but I am so glad they did. It immediately brought me back to a long ago stay overlooking Lake Como. As noted by other guests, the broad retractable awning made the space comfortable for most of even the hottest days. The property is private, quiet, and very peaceful. Falling asleep in the hammock is not hard to do. Classic summertime vibe.I would definitely consider booking again. That said, there are a couple things I would like to point out. The mini split in the main living area does nicely cool most of the house. However, the loft bedroom can remain rather warm, even overnight. And, if you need to keep the door of the primary bedroom closed, it does get pretty toasty. Standing fans to circulate the cooler air would be a helpful addition. Finally, I had not realized there was no direct access to the lake. Replacing the dock would make this spot practically perfect!"
"This is a beautiful home that is exactly as pictured. It is nicely decorated, seems to be newly renovated and is very clean. The pictures are exactly as the home is. The kitchen has everything you need. The big picture windows and top deck give you beautiful views of sparkling Pelots Bay and the beautiful birds that circle it. It is in a quiet part of North Hero and on a quiet part of the bay so you could easily go out in kayaks with little worries about big boats. Fishing was okay and my husband did get a few bites. Be aware that the Game warden does come around to check your Vermont fishing license ( which my husband had. ) It really is a lovely peaceful home. One caveat- if you are elderly, have balance issues or mobility issues this home might be a little difficult for you. The main floor with the kitchen and living room is noticeably slanted which can throw off your balance and the staircase to the downstairs ( which has a gate at the top) is very steep and has a sharp uneven turn at the end. The outside staircase is very uneven with a rail on one side on all but the very bottom 4-5 steps down to the water’s edge. The kayaks are on a landing and must be brought down those last steps. Also the stairs are very weathered so holding onto the rail can give you splinters - don’t slid your hand! I don’t think any of these things are an issue unless as I said you are elderly, or have balance/ mobility issues. All in all the house was lovely. "
Lakefront, private beach, dock, kayaks, Paddle Boat and pet friendly!
10/10 Excellent
"We were over the moon with our recent stay at this Lake Front Property!! It was excellent what we hoped for and more!! We had the private, quiet getaway that we prayed for to celebrate our marriage!!! We couldn’t have asked for a better experience ! "
"Beautiful and comfortable lake home on the western shores of Isle La Motte. The house is a 2 minute walk to Fisk Farm and the Fisk quarry site of the Chazy reef formation (Ordovician), and 10-15’ walk to southern trails that start near Turner farm and traverse Ordovician to Cambrian strata. Well-equipped kitchen was a pleasure in which to cook and host visiting friends and family. Back yard extends to meadow fields and had raspberry and thimbleberry patches plus apples, as well as an outdoor grill. The location is 20’ from the Canadian border crossing in Alburgh for day trips to the eastern townships of Quebec, or to venture further south to the other islands in Lake Champlain. Available kayaks and bikes allow further exploration by land or lake, including the Goodsell ridge preserve and other vistas along the western shores. Would gladly visit again -"
Dog-friendly, home on Lake Champlain with panoramic views of the Green Mountains
10/10 Excellent
"Overall an amazing home with beautiful scenery and great proximity to Kreamer & Kin, Heroes Welcome and North Hero House. The twin beds were tough for adults. Nothing the owner can do - and certainly aren’t being critical of anything they did - but the Brazo Zulu restaurant neighbor is a little rough. They play very loud, bad music almost nonstop. This was especially annoying in the morning when you’re trying to relax and enjoy the lake and mountains. Still highly recommend staying here but suggest you bring a Bluetooth speaker to try and drown out the music from Brazo Zulu"
West Shore Lake Champlain Sunsets and Mountain Views
8/10 Good
"This is a great space for large groups. Our 10 family members fit in quite comfortably. But,...it could be so much more comfortable. The house needs many updates, not the least of which is the water situation. Others have remarked on the sulfur smell of the water and problems with hot water in the showers being intermittent. Hans did come over and treat the water with chlorine, which improved the smell for a few days. There were ceiling fans, but a couple of them did not work, even when new batteries were installed. Only one of the lights in the ceiling fans worked. Some of the other lights in the kitchen did not work consistently. The description of amenities says linens provided. The towels were old and worn and a minimal amount given. There was only one old dishtowel in the kitchen. The kitchen was not "well stocked", no real sauce pans. There were a few cabinets that needed cleaning, and the oven/stove really needed a good cleaning. I cleaned out the silverware drawer which had dirt, crumbs, etc. Three spoons for a place that sleeps 16? Really? Bring your own dishwasher solution- there were only enough pods for 5 days. The positives were the waterfront with the boats, paddleboards, kayaks and the decks. The back deck was lovely except for the umbrella didn't crank up well and was not straight. Just a lot of little things that, for the price, should be better. Hans was responsive to our questions/needs. We would stay again, only because it is large enough for us."
"We really enjoyed our stay at Tradstuga. The house had such a luxurious feel with all of the wonderful amenities provided by the host. The bed was really comfortable and cozy and the climate control in the house was great. We spent a lot of time on the deck enjoying the beautiful scenery and nature all around us. Bryan was very responsive to the minor issues we encountered and communication was excellent. We would not hesitate to stay here again on a future visit to this area."
