I explained that I paid for resort view and they insisted garden view was an upgrade from resort view. This is not the case, however, as a resort view is more expensive than a garden view. I allowed the person at reception to talk me into the change but was not happy with the room and to their credit they immediately moved us to a resort view.
While this issue was ameliorated it did unfortunately set a deceptive tone to the start of our vacation.
