Any Maui's future buildings are no longer allowed to build this close to the water, which means you hear the ocean when open your window. Everyday people gather around the seawall to enjoy the sunset, while you can take it all in from private lanai The condo is located on Kaanapali Beach, one of the best beaches Maui has to offer and about 10 mins north of the Lahaina downtown. Stepping outside of the building and you will get onto sandy beaches. Condo is right next to all the large resorts where you can get easy access to resort amenities. 5 mins drive to other WORLD-CLASS beaches such as Napili, and Kapalua. Although the exterior of the building is routinely treated to help combat this issue and the condo is thoroughly cleaned between each guest, it greatly helps if you leave the screens shut and don't leave any food out to avoid unwanted creatures This is not resort living, there are some conveniences the large resorts provide that I just can't offer, such as daily change of sheets/towels. If you are more used to that type of lodging, please choose resorts over my place. However—one thing was left out and I’m glad that it was because we probably wouldn’t have been able to secure the rental due to demand. When my partner and I first arrived and both looked over the balcony were gobsmacked to see not one, not two, but six massive sea turtles floating in the water directly below us . The water was crystal clear, and there was only one instance during our entire stay where we went outside and \*didn’t\* see one (and we were out there a LOT). Between that and stargazing with the enormous binoculars that Roger kindly provided, it truly felt like an escape from anything we’ve experienced on the mainland. We stayed a week at Christine’s condo to celebrate my daughters graduation from college. I have to start with the view! It is beyond amazing!! You will not find a better view! We left the lanai doors open and slept to the sound of crashing surf every night! It was perfect!! The condo is perfect & just as described. Three adults were comfortable and had plenty of room. I was unsure about the Murphy bed, but it was very comfortable & my daughter said the pull out couch was also. The condo is fully equipped with everything from dishes to boogie boards. I was concerned that the condo being next to the laundry, trash shoot, and elevators would be noisy, but it was absolutely quiet and we never heard a thing. My only issue is that there is no beach at Maui Kai as shown in the pictures. I don’t know if it is a seasonal beach or not? But there was only rocks & a small bit of sand during our stay. You have to go to the neighboring resorts next door & down a bit if you want a beach. Also, beware the reef at the beach next door, it is sharp & your knees/feet will get ripped to shreds. There are plenty of beautiful places to snorkel within a short drive. There is also a market, restaurants, and a food truck food court right by the condo, which made for easy shopping & good food choices. Perfect size for my husband and I for our honeymoon. The kitchen was fully stocked with kitchenware, and there was beach umbrellas and towels for us to use. We spent lots of time sitting on our Lani watching whales and turtles from our unit! The Murphy bed was really comfortable too! We had a wonderful time and would deffinatly recommend this beutiful unit to anyone coming over.
