"Very convenient if you use the train"
Minutes walking from the train station. Hotel needs improvement, wifi in the lobby and bar only. Some other refurbishment would be necessary.

"Great central location, very comfortable room"
This is a lovely hotel. Great location eight in the centre of Birmingham next to the new Grand Central station. If you're driving, there is no parking which is the only draw back of this hotel. However, if you have the right type of luggage (i.e pull along, not arm fulls of bags) it's not too far to walk and the hotel can offer you a discount on the parking rate. Some of the serving staff were a little moody but many others were very pleasant and helpful. The room was large and very comfortable as was the bathroom. I look forward to staying here again.

"Nice hotel near to train station"
the room I had was very nice, with lots of light and very clean. I didn't try the food though. The down side of my hotel room is that it was on the first floor, so I could hear the noise from the cars on the road. There was also a advertising light right outside my window, so I really needed to close my curtain tight in the night. In overall, I am quite happy with my stay

"Hit and miss"
I stayed here for a week in November 2015 so have a good overall view. The good stuff: It has a really good level of decor and the room is fabulous to look at. Everything worked and I had plenty of room. My room was quiet (4th floor) and I didn't hear any neighbours. Slept well. The breakfast was excellent overall, with nice touches like pancakes and salmon. And the staff are friendly. Fellow guests are a mix of ladies that lunch and business types. The not so good stuff: It was the small things that I found annoying. Rain shower had no power. Kettle in room didn't turn off automatically. Ordered a pulled pork wrap and the pulled pork was in fact chopped (tinned?) pork. Duvet was too thin (although they supplied a blanket - but no thicker duvets???) and air-con meant I never really felt warm. But overall it's a great hotel. Those little issues might not come up if you are here for a couple of nights!

"nice hotel with no personel working after midnight"
First night we could not sleep util 4:30 AM since the guest next door fall asleep with his TV on real load who was apperently drunk. I have called the reception several times between 2:00 AM and 4:00 AM but noone answered the phone so I went to reception myself. There was noone working at the reception. There was a note with a phone next to it at the reception desk telling to dial "0" for help so I have dialed but the reception phone rand where there was nobody working. So I took the inisitive and knocked on the drunk guest room but there was no answer. If you get sick or have a heart attack in the middle of the night, you will get not help between the hours 11:30 PM till 6:30 AM. Also there is NO heat after 11:00 PM till 6:00 AM in this freezing weather. We stayed in this hotel 3 nights and every time we wanted to enter our room, the key that they gave us did not work so we had to go back to reception again to update it. Since we made our reservation thru Expedia (cheeper rates) they gave us the worst room in the establishment, the very last room at the ground floor by the utility room. When it comes to safety, the owner of this hotel should not cut down on labour and heat in order to save some money or else someting will happen oneday and somebody will get hurt then this hotel will face the biggest lawsuit that they think of.

"Close to everything"
I booked a night here as I was going to see a show, didn't want to travel late and fancied a little luxury. The hotel was fine in most respects. Check in was uneventful, but I didn't leave my card details so had no access to the fridge/minibar which was electronically locked. The room was close to the lifts which were activated by the key card and it was at the front of the hotel facing Smallbrook Queensway. The room was OK but showing signs of wear - the chair was stained, there were threads hanging from an odd bench arrangement around the TV, but was generally clean, light and spacious. The choice of channels was less that you'd find on a Freeview box. The curtains have an odd arrangement - I couldn't see any blackout curtains and was treated to a night of getting dressed in the bathroom and trying to sleep whilst watching the traffic circling Paradise Circus roundabout. It wasn't until the following morning that I found the blackout blinds next to the window hiding at the far end of the window behind the nets. The bathroom was good but I was intrigued by the telephone by the toilet. ??eh?? Who needs to make a 'phone call from there. There were generous timings, with the gym open from 6am to 11pm, breakfast during the week from 6:30am to 10am and checkout was 12pm not the usual 11am. Now I know how to draw the curtains, I'll be back if I need to stay in town again.

"Good hotel for staying in after a night out"
Plus sides : extremely clean, Amazing walk in shower, comfortable bed, reasonably priced room service Negative sides : terrible WiFi (premium WiFi is an additional £9.99/24h) TV uses streaming which does lag and occasionally go out of sync. Vending machine robbed my money without giving me the goods, couldn't be bothered to kick up a fuss though.

"Hotel which is convenient for the town centre. "
Good check-in excellent shower and room temp. Food leaves an awful lot to be desired / breakfast almost inedible although bar meals were adequate although expensive for what they were.
