Top Köngäs Hotel Reviews

Levi Suites Levi Gold

10/10 Excellent

"Great little units at the base of Levi Zero Point Lifts. Very clean and well organized. Kitchen is on the small side if you are coming from North America but it was well stocked with everything needed to cook decent meals. Would definitely rebook when returning. Lovely staff. We had a small maintenance issue which was cleared up within 45 minutes."

Hotel Hullu Poro

10/10 Excellent

"The staff was super nice. They really helped me out answered every question. I had help me find some things that I really love to do here in Levi. I was only there one night, but I wanna go back to their lounge. It's really pretty there. They have wonderful art everywhere Local and some local authors with plenty of books that you can just pick up and read. From the airport, I took a flight from Helsinki straight to Levi and there was a bus there that only cost about $10 to take me directly to my hotel and that was very convenient. Right there at the hotel there's a really nice restaurant you can sit inside or out the weight. Staff was also very nice and help me to find things to do while I was here so you just have to ask the people and they're super friendly. There's some really nice steps right near the Burger King or behind the Burger King that you can step up. It's like 776 steps to go to the top of the Ski area where you can get a cheesecake and a coffee and then there's a little museum which I'm just about to go to about the Sami. It's called Sami land."

Levi Suites Levin Klubi

8/10 Good

"Apartment clean and comfortable although very expensive for the small size. 2nd bedroom like a box and no bedside lamp. What wasn’t managed well at all were the outside areas. Due to the weather, very slippery ice had formed and it was dangerous to walk to the door of apartment and to the car, especially with luggage. Grit previously thrown down had iced over so no use at all. In places there was 2 inches of water over sheet ice. In the middle of the access to car parking area there was a drain hole and about 1 foot deep of ice built up around it to the level of the car park with all the winter snow, so it had created an enormous pot hole. A grill should have been placed over this. Our car wheels went down this hole and we were lucky not to have damaged it. I went and reported the dangerous and icy conditions to the reception staff and a small amount of new grit was thrown down. More should have been done to improve this situation. If I had been able to find a metal spade I would have roughed up the ice myself by the front door to make it safer. The apartments are in a convenient location to access Lift 6 at Levi ski resort, however there are better value for money options in the resort."

Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Kongäs?

The best area to stay in Kongäs is the main village itself, especially for those looking to be close to essential services and local activities.

Kongäs village is a small, welcoming community located by the Ounasjoki River, offering a sense of local life. It's compact and easy to navigate on foot, with the main road, Kirkkotie, running through its centre. You'll find the local supermarket, a few small shops, and the local church here. It's a great base for exploring the surrounding nature.

For families, staying directly in Kongäs village is very convenient. You're close to the local playground and often have easy access to the river for gentle walks or fishing. The proximity to the supermarket makes self-catering straightforward, and there are often local events or activities organised in the village that are suitable for all ages.

Couples seeking a peaceful retreat with good amenities will also appreciate Kongäs village. You can enjoy quiet evenings, perhaps by the river, and have the convenience of local services without being in a bustling tourist hub.

When is the best time to go to Kongäs?

While Kongäs is a wonderful destination year-round, the best time to visit truly depends on the experience you're after, with December to March being ideal for winter activities and June to August for summer adventures.

The long nights also offer the best chance to witness the magnificent Northern Lights dancing across the sky. This period is particularly wonderful for couples seeking a romantic, adventurous getaway amidst stunning snowy landscapes.

If you prefer warmer weather and the magic of the Midnight Sun, then June to August is the time to visit.
