Unable to accept responsibility for a mistake on the listing and nearly ruined our weekend
This could have been a lovely place to stay, and I don't usually leave bad reviews, but these owners nearly ruined an important personal weekend and then refused to understand the problem or apologise for the mistake.
We arrived expecting many more bedrooms than there actually were - in fact we were expecting to be in the main farmhouse, not the annexe next to it. We were 7 adults and we'd expected to have a room each, that was partly why we chose this property. Instead we just had 2 proper bedrooms to share. For some trips this would be fine but it wasn't appropriate for our group, or what we'd paid for or chosen. We knew we wanted enough private bedrooms to sleep well without sharing dormitory style (we had a baby with us amongst other things.)
We realised afterwards that a simple mistake had been made. The English translation hadn't been updated when they built the annexe which we were put in. However they refused to accept any responsibility for this mistake or apologise.
On top of this they accused us of things like not washing the bedsheets as agreed or emptying rubbish - both of which we'd spent lots of time doing on our last day. When we were there they also gave us a very dirty baby cot and the house was missing lots of things that had been listed - like a music player. But of course it wasn’t actually the house we’d thought we’d booked.
We know that mistakes happen but they refused to understand the problem. It wasn't an easy situation, and the communication afterwards was terrible. That's why I can only give such a bad review.
(They have now updated the English translation so I guess they realised it was their responsibility afterall)
