All of the staff we met were really friendly and welcoming. The room was large and comfortable and breakfast was good (although a little more variety would have been welcome). Our room was built on the side of a stone wall and was very spacious with a separate living room area. The base from the music could be heard and felt in our room. Obviously this is not the hotels fault BUT when it is a known problem they should be telling you in advance during check in or write it on their website and maybe hand out ear plugs to show they actually care. The hotel itself is nice, good location, clean but the staff was not very enthusiastic and it felt a bit awkward coming into the lobby. Loud music would be an understatement. The hotel provides ear plugs but they do nothing for a loud base. We asked for a refund for the second night to go elsewhere but they did not allow a refund and said we had received a message with a note on the location of the hotel and the noise, that was not the case. They did change our rooms to the quieter side, however the noise did not improve. The hotel itself is great, charming, the reality is it is next door to effectively a nightclub. The music goes on till approx 1.30am, EVERY NIGHT and it doesn't matter what floor of the hotel you are on, it's unavoidable. Do not stay on the first floor at any cost, you will not sleep.
