Welcome to Speed Island Trail! Nestled on 1 Acre property in a forested area that backs onto the Speed River.
Enjoy Beautiful views all season long with large floor to ceiling windows and wildlife right outside your door. It is just like being out at the cottage.
This beautiful one bedroom house is beautifully decorated, has a large kitchen and a breakfast bar.
Enjoy the large sunroom and deck where you can sit back and relax.

The pictures of this property do not do it justice. It is modern and spacious. The windows facing the rear yard and Speed River make the environment open and just as relaxing as sitting in the backyard. It is truly a special getaway. I was able to walk to the mill run trail and took it about 3 MI to the West and back. It is very close to lots of businesses and other amenities while feeling like you are in the middle of the Woods.

This place was perfect! My husband and I stayed here for our anniversary weekend and it was a great little escape while still being close to so much! Beautiful place that had everything we needed. nice sunroom and view of the river. Lots of squirrels, bluejays and chickadees to watch in the morning.

Wonderful experience

We had such a fun time! The home was beautiful and spotless. If you are in the Cambridge area, i highly recommended this place. The creek in the backyard was stunning and we encountered a ton of wildlife like: birds, squirrels, geese, beavers and a cat! This place will always be remembered and we are sad to go.

Everything was great. Clean, high equipped cottage at the river. Quiet but next to everything you need. Spent a week there to relax After two week roadtrip (NB, NS, PEI and Cape Breton).

Great weekend getaway

It was a great weekend at the cottage where we celebrated my finances birthday. It came as advertised and the host replied back quickly if we had any questions. The cottage had a secluded nature feel while being a 5 minute drive from the shopping centre. Would definitely stay again.

Lovely, but …

This is a very lovely place and exceptionally clean (except mold on the outside of shower door) and it is mostly as advertised. When I called and asked if we needed to supply wood for the fireplace (which I assumed was wood-burning owing to the fire screen in the photo), I was told that the fireplace was fueled by propane. Disappointment, but okay. When we arrived it was the clear that the fireplace was not useable — vents taped shut and blankets stuffed around the box of the fireplace. I texted owner and asked what the secret was to turning on the fireplace and was told propane was turned off (she did not tell me this when I spoke to her —you decide what to make of that). It seems clear that this is not a working fireplace. Can you tell we were really were looking forward to nights in front of the fire?The chairs surrounding the fireplace are rotting. We did bring wood to build a fire in firepit which is near the beautiful rushing river — the sound of which is greatly muted by the traffic sound from the nearby 401. (To be fair we did not notice the traffic on the deck.)The ice dispenser on the refrigerator is broken and there were no ice cubes nor anyway to make any. Should you wish beverage in a tall glass with ice, bring both. Otherwise the kitchen is exceptionally well stocked even with a good variety of stemware, but only one red wine glass.Having said all of that and if none of it matters to you, this is a great place. We booked 3 nights and stayed one.

wonderful experience!

we booked this trip for the holidays and it was beyond our expectations. with floor to ceiling windows we got a direct view of the river and the nature of the property. the place was a night quiet stay with lots of wild animals (cute ones) and everything was provided from blankets to cutlery. the home is also beautifully furnished. would definitely recommend!

Happy Canada Day Weekend

More than a cottage this property is simply amazing with the river, trees, and small wildlife for the ultimate relaxation time. The interior of the cottage is very modern with a nature theme throughout. Very easy to uber in/out of downtown Cambridge within 15 minutes. Marwin is a great host and very easy to locate and access the cottage. Will certainly be staying again in the future.

Great few days away.

Couple get away

We had a very lovely time. The cabin was perfect, we couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful setting. We actually were pleased to have so many amenities close by, and yet feel like we were in a secluded environment. Would definitely go back, and recommend it to anyone interested.
