Hideaway farm cottage in walking distance of Coast Path & Manorbier Village
10/10 Excellent
"A fabulous hideaway location but so close to many dog friendly beaches and the picturesque Welsh costal path.Barafundle Cottage was very comfortable and clean containing every thing we needed for our week away. A big bonus was the outdoor dog washing station which we used whenever we had spent many hours on the local beaches. Our favourite walk was down the beach from Penally (train station car park) to Tenby which is a delightful walled town with many excellent cafes and restaurants. Do not miss the chance to have a look around Manorbier Castle just a 15 minute walk away."
"We are a family of four: 2 adults and 2 teens. The Haggard was absolutely perfect for us. The weather wasn’t overly kind during our stay but we arrived to a lit fire (and agreed a slightly early check-in time) and a wonderfully cosy feeling! The kitchen was well equipped and all of the essentials were throughout the cottage. It was a very quiet spot, perhaps slightly too quiet for us (we’d have liked a pub close by!) but very good location for visiting all our favourite spots in Pembrokeshire."
"The apartment was well equipped with everything needed for a break away. It was comfortable and quiet and we had a fantastic break. We were in the area to do some training for an upcoming event - the Iron Man in September so this was an excellent base outside of the town with time to relax in peace while not training"
Regarded as one of the most impressive castles in Wales, visitors to Carew Castle can trace the structure’s history from Norman fortifications to when it became an Elizabethan country home owned by Sir John Perrot, possibly an illegitimate son of Henry VIII, before its eventual abandonment in the 17th Century. Several notable features have resulted, including earthworks created by Royalist defenders during the Civil War and window frames dating to Tudor times that were made of imported Cotswold stone that stands out against the local limestone used for the rest of the building.
