We are very sorry that you did not enjoy your stay. A number of issues raised we will address with the housekeeper as this is not acceptable. However, in response to noise I would remind you this is a residential area with full time residents so noise from neighbours is to be expected. It is clear that this is a terraced property. If noise is an issue perhaps a detached property should be a first consideration? Your comments surrounding our personal possessions/decoration choices is disappointing as it’s clearly our holiday home so yes you were sharing someone else’s home. Many like this type of stay. However this does not appear to be for you so perhaps a hotel in the future would also suit you more?

I am sorry to hear you think that the beach hut was too expensive, as huts in the area often ask for £75 plus a day.

As we do not live in close proximity we are unsure as to what we could have done apart from apologise about the trays. Most guests ensure that they clean up properly after themselves but sometimes this does not always happen. This is a reasonably priced cottage, costing significantly less than most in the area with caravans in the area often costing more. As such, to expect the housekeeper to check and clean absolutely everything every time is just not feasibly possible. We keep the cost low so that we can share what we are lucky to own with others. We are sorry this did not meet expectations as we take a lot of pride and care in our home with it just being completed repainted before your arrival. We have recently updated the information concerning fuel for the fire. Unfortunately previous guests have taken liberties which led to us making the decision to no longer provide fuel. This is however readily available in the village. It’s a shame you won’t return as we have many guests who do.

Thank you for your feed back. Cleanliness is of major importance and the majority of our guests have been nothing but complimentary. Sadly we understand that a family member has a condition that probably would indicate that an old property with open fire that allows dogs was probably not the best choice for your family.
