The best time to visit Kilmichael Glassary is during the late spring and summer months, from May to September, when the weather is generally mildest and the days are long.During this period, you'll find the most favourable conditions for exploring the Kilmartin Glen, which is rich in Neolithic and Bronze Age monuments, including standing stones, cairns, and rock art. These outdoor sites are best enjoyed when the weather is dry and bright. May and June offer beautiful blooming landscapes and often fewer crowds than the peak summer months.Couples looking for a peaceful and scenic getaway will particularly appreciate July and August. The longer daylight hours allow for extended walks along the Crinan Canal or through the ancient woodlands, and the local pubs and restaurants are in full swing, offering a relaxed dining experience after a day of exploration. For those interested in fishing, especially for salmon and trout, the river Add, which runs through the glen, is typically at its best during these warmer months.
