It includes the main Basilica, various chapels, and sites of reflection. Staying close to the Sanctuary means you're within easy walking distance of all the religious sites, making it very convenient for pilgrims. For pilgrims, especially those on a spiritual retreat, staying directly within the Sanctuary grounds or in accommodations very close by is ideal. Many guesthouses and retreat centres are purpose-built to cater to those visiting for religious reasons, offering a quiet and contemplative environment.

The best time to visit Kibeho is during Rwanda's dry seasons, which run from June to September and again from December to February. These months offer pleasant weather with less rainfall, making it ideal for exploring the area and attending religious services. The roads, which can be challenging during the wet season, are also in much better condition, ensuring a smoother journey.
