« Comfortable room with excellent tea making supplies - and a good sized mug each! The floor fan was useful as it was very warm. The hotel kindly allowed a later check out with a prompt and polite response to our request. Check in was efficient and simple. The evening meal was superb - great value and the pavlova! Wow! Chef’s kiss! All in all - a beautiful historic building and a really enjoyable stay. We will return I am sure. »

« Visually the place makes a very good impact. Dinner, the food was excellent as were the staff. Breakfast … we’d booked it at check in. We turned up to breakfast and there was nothing booked , the service at breakfast was okay , we did have to case up something. But overall we had a very good stay and would return. »

« Nous avons choisi le George sur les conseils d'amis qui, comme nous, ont leur enfant à l'University of Essex. The George est situé sur High Street, donnant un grand choix de restaurants, 100 metres du parc du Chateau (7.30-19h). L'hôtel est très "oldy-wordly" avec quelques murs d'origine. La chambre n'était pas grande mais largement suffisante, avec vue sur le parking, donc pas de bruit et très calme. Le lit, 160 metre était très confortable comme le linge de lit. Le seul hic était la douche...
