The use of key codes rather than key cards was a nice experience. The staff was only onsite for limited hours so the washrooms were often out of toilet paper or a little messy. Women's washrooms require key code for entry which was nice for safety. The room was quite small but suited our needs as we did not spend a lot of time in the room. Location was about a 30-40 minute walk away from city centre. Overall, the neighbourhood did feel safe. There was a full kitchen available which was nice.
An issue that we ran into was our flight into Helsinki landed at 1:30 pm and check in was not until 4:00pm. As the building is keycoded we could not gain entry to attempt to drop our luggage off or gain earlier entry. We were able to slowly sneak our way to our floor by opening doors as other people entered the building. Once inside and on our floor we were able to check in early. However, had no one been entering or exiting the building we would have waited for two hours.
We found this to be a comfortable hotel with good access to public transport. There was a good variety of choices for breakfast. Desk staff were very friendly once we made ourselves known to them. Beds were comfortable and the room was quiet.
Was an amazing experience to visit the city Helsinky and I was truly lucky to stay at this hostel.. It takes 3 to 4 minutes walk to reach to the nearest bus stop.. So you really don't have to walk much to find this hostel.. Also for visiting the City you can reach to the bus stop within 3-4 minutes which makes ur stay more comfortable. They provides a huge locker where I could easily store my baggage and other important documents... I would definitely recommend you to stay at this hostel... :)
