Perfectly located in a quiet neighborhood just outside of downtown Kona. Ono Oasis was a comfortable, spacious property with all the amenities imaginable! We enjoyed our stay immensely & would highly recommend this property!
Wonderful stay. Only issue we had was 2 of the cushions on the pool loungers had stain/ripped, but that was minor and could be covered with a beach towel. Had lots of extra towels, fully loaded kitchen and had everything you would need. Everything was as pictured and would definitely stay here again.
We spent the entire week at this property with our family. Was a great experience. Would highly recommend for families that want or need to have their own private space for each individual. Plenty of room to spread out and plenty of privacy for each person.
Amazing property and great location to town and the beaches. The house is impeccably maintained, absolutely gorgeous and has everything you want/need. We loved that they had beach chairs and boogie boards in a storage bin outside to borrow and not have to buy or rent them. We did need to reach out after hours about some keys to the back bedroom and we were assisted immediately, which was great. We would definitely return to this property if we visit Kona again. I highly recommend!
The Ono Oasis property was even more impressive in real life than the listing pictures. The house was extremely clean. The kitchen was well stocked, and there was enough beach equipment for our family to enjoy the area beaches. The location was great slightly up in the hills. We were able to watch the sunset from the lanai every evening. Grocery shopping was simple and the farmers market was really great. We were within 10 to 50 minute driving distance to the area's amazing beaches. My family (adults and teens) loved this house and location. We would stay here again when visiting Kona.
The house has plenty of privacy nooks as well as spaces to come together.
The kitchen is well stocked and centered.
We found a neighborhood walking trail that we enjoyed every morning.
Nature Infused - This space is Special.
We loved staying at this gorgeous property during our family vacation. We loved the quiet neighborhood, complete private pool and gorgeous grounds, and how well stocked this home was. It has everything you need (laundry soap, plenty of paper towels and the bathrooms are even stocked with shampoo and body wash). The location is set high in the hills, but only a short drive down the hill and inti Kailua-Kona. We loved exploring volcano national park, Hapuna beach, kua bay/beach and snorkeling in several gorgeous locations. For those who do not love bugs, this home does have geckos, some
Mosquitos near the pond, tiny cute frogs by the pond and loads of birds, but that is all to be expected in a tropical location with dense vegetation! We would highly recommend staying at this home and working with this rental company. They were fantastic!
My siblings and I got together for the first time in decades to clear out our mothers house. We lost both of our parents and my brother in 18 months. This place allowed us to be in a beautiful sanctuary while we processed difficult emotions and paperwork we had a limited time to review. While Kona was not a vacation destination for us this place allowed us to have that Hawaiian feeling we needed. It was three adults total. We each had our own room and bathroom to allow us to have our privacy but amazing common areas to be together. The outside kitchen was lovely as was the indoor garden. I would recommend! Much better then the three of us being in a hotel and pay more.
Wonderful location not to mention a beautiful home. It was well-supplied with everything we needed in the kitchen, laundry and not to mention towels for the beach and pool. We enjoyed using the pool, eating star fruit from the trees on the property and sitting on the lanai in the morning while drinking Kona coffee. We explored several beaches, farmers markets, coffee tours, lava tubes, Volcano National Park, snorkeling with manta rays, boogie boarding and playing frisbee on the beach.
The owners of this home have created a welcoming oasis in a residential neighborhood removed from the busy areas of town. It is by no means quiet, though - the birds and insects make quite a racket throughout the night. It could be a challenging environment for light sleepers … and while we loved sharing the interior with geckos, others may not.
You do have to drive everywhere - nothing is walkable. But it’s lovely staying home! The house and lanai are airy and incredibly spacious, with very comfortable furnishings. There is a great deal of separation between the three bedrooms, each with its own full bath. The beds were ok - too soft for our tastes. The kitchen is well appointed; our only disappointment was having no ice, as the ice-maker was clogged & the property manager did not respond to a request to fix it.
The pool is wonderful, as long as you have two bathing suits - one for the pool and one for the beach, as the waters can’t mix without an algae bloom. There was one day where the water was too low and it made a flushing sound every 5-10 minutes. The property manager didn’t respond to a call about that, either, but the pool company did, thank goodness!
The price was comparable to a much less appealing condo in Princeville on Kauai, where we spent the previous 5 nights, so it felt like a good value. I would stay here again for an all-adult vacation if I were ever to go back to Kona.
There were three of us: mother, daughter, & grandmother ( who grew up on big island). Wanted daughter to experience Hawaii as grandma sort of did. We choose Ono house. Perfect for us. No AC and an open house. New little frogs are loud!!!! REALLY! We had the luxury of super appliances, salt water pool, outdoor kitchen, koi pond, (and more), with the open trade winds and fans. If you want to feel Hawaii like most Hawaiians do, Ono house is it! Great front lanai and great spaces.
Ono Oasis is a lovely, peaceful, relaxing place.
A couple of negatives: Was a little difficult getting answers from property manager in a timely manner. Pool cleaners were not very friendly.
Over all it's a wonderful place.
The property was beautiful and spacious! We stayed with our kiddos and loved looking for any fruits in season. It was very open, which we liked, but It did make privacy a bit complicated... There is no taking naps while kids are playing in the pool; it was echoed into and throughout the house.
This is a wonderful property. We enjoyed the outdoor kitchen every night. Watching the geckos and looking for Opal. The pool is AMAZING. Good location for going anywhere on the island.
If you, like us, prefer staying away from the crowds and traffic of Alii Drive or near the Pier, this is a great option. Very secluded grounds on an acre with lunch tropical foliage. The house itself is dated, but in good repair and well maintained. Internet is NOT good, but may not be the owners fault as the area has a reputation for poor service. A signal booster would be a nice inexpensive upgrade. The master bed is fair at best. Again, a little investment in a new improved mattress would be a good idea. Kitchen is well stocked with quality service items. Everything works fine and the pool area is very nice. We would stay again.

Beautiful home, excellent pool.
This is a beautiful home and would recommend it. The only drawback is that it has open air ceilings which if it’s cool at night, make the home cool. So depending on the weather and time of year you may need to have warm clothes to wear in the evening and early morning until the home heats up. The pool is great and the home itself is fantastic. Beds were comfy and home is well stocked. The extra kitchen outside is a real plus and we used the grill a lot.

Fabulous Ono Oasis home on 1/2 acre lush property
Wow, we absolutely loved our stay at the Ono Oasis for 3 weeks.
We stayed with another couple and ended up using all three bedrooms since I liked to get up at dawn with the spectacular birdsong and my husband liked to sleep in.
I would sneak off to the other guest bedroom and listen to the multitude of birds wake up in the backyard at sunrise while I read in the mornings and sometimes fell back to sleep in the truly comfortable bed.
The spacious tropical backyard complete with fish pond and waterfall surrounds the 2800 ft.² house with a full 1/2 acre of tall old growth Palm and Banana trees that insure complete privacy from the neighbouring houses.
No one can see you in the back yard or in the private salt water pool which we loved to skinny dip in.
The master bedroom and living room lead out to the large Lanai overlooking the ocean at sunset below.
Then at night we sat around the circular fire pit next to the waterfall & fish pond and enjoyed the bright stars.
It was spectacular.
I think my favourite part of the house is the huge indoor/outdoor atrium sunken living room with a huge skylight which acts as the entire ceiling .
The atrium is filled with ferns and plants and is truly an indoor / outdoor experience.
There is a large two person Hammock in the side yard in the shade of the ample fruit bearing banana trees.
In addition to banana trees there are are limes , oranges , mangoes , papaya and pineapple growing on the land you can pick and eat.
It really feels like you drove hours to get out into the country to this secluded property yet you are actually in a neighbourhood 10 minutes from downtown Kailua Kona shops, restaurants, snorkelling beaches and tourist attractions.
The pool room has snorkelling gear, boogie boards, and beach chairs that you can borrow to go to the nearby sandy beaches with.
The property boasts a spacious indoor chefs kitchen and dining room plus a full covered Outdoor Kitchen complete with large grill. Each kitchen has and its own full set of dishes for 12 to use at each of the two separate large dining tables.
This place is perfect for a couple on their own or a group of 6 or 8 ( with the additional queen sized off the floor air bed available for use in the TV room area).
We want to return next year with our adult children & their spouses.
I can’t say enough about how much we enjoyed being in this spacious beautifully furnished home that truly lives up to its name

Beautiful, spacious home, pool, jungle garden.
We stayed at the Ono Oasis for a week. What a lovely house. There were 4 of us, but there was so much space that any of the four of us could find a private area to enjoy for reading and relaxing. The layout of the bedrooms and outdoor gardens and patios provided such a sense of spaciousness. We were short car rides from beaches and restaurants and in the middle of a neighborhood, yet the absolute jungle of the gardens gave us complete seclusion. We so enjoyed the salt water pool. We could even see the ocean and sunsets from the big deck that runs across the front of the house. We cooked great meals in the outdoor kitchen and indoors as well. I needed a vacation so badly and only had one week to get relaxation. This place was serene and gave me just what I needed. I hope to return soon.

Private tropical paradise at Ono Oasis
My husband and I stayed at Ono Oasis for a week, and it is truly a spectacular property: a spacious house set on a half acre plus lot, surrounded by beautifully landscaped, lush tropical vegetation. The property is set high above the ocean, with spectacular views of the sunset over the water. The house is beautifully furnished in a Hawaiian style, with carved wooden furniture, antiques, and lovely accent pieces. The very large kitchen is built for entertaining, and has everything the guests might need to prepare a great meal. Wake up to the birdsong, grind the delicious Kona coffee in the morning, and sit outside with a cup, by the swimming pool, or in the outdoor kitchen area, and watch the birds flying from tree to tree. Some of the best bird watching on the Big Island is right at Ono Oasis, and I spent many hours in the heated salt water swimming pool, looking up at the palm and bamboo trees that are home to saffron finches, yellow billed cardinals, Northern cardinals, Japanese white eyes, and a number of other birds. Aimakapa fishpond is located just inland from Honokohau Beach in Kaloko-Honokohau National Historic Park, a few miles from Ono Oasis, and is another great area for bird watching. You might also see sea turtles sunning themselves on the beach here, too!
The beds and bedding at Ono Oasis are very comfortable and of high quality. The host provides plenty of towels and beach towels in the well appointed bathrooms. The ceiling fans provide a lovely breeze at night, combined with the breeze coming in from the floor to ceiling screened balcony doors. Ono Oasis is just a couple of miles from Magic Sands Beach and Alii Drive, and it is an easy trip to Safeway for groceries. Costco is only a few miles away, as well. The property manager met us at Ono Oasis to walk us through the property, and was responsive to any questions we had later. This is a wonderful place to stay, private and elegant. A day trip across the island (with bird watching along the way) to Hilo, with lunch at Tina's Garden Café, a Thai fusion restaurant, is best followed by a dip in the pool at Ono Oasis. The pool is a perfect way to end all of the days! One trip to Ono Oasis is just not enough; we hope to return!
