The worn/dirty carpeting needs to be replaced with tile or laminate. The master bedroom shower area needs blinds you can’t see through. Rental was very good, great lanai, well equipped kitchen, laundry, and beach amenities. Good location with lots of room for 3 couples. If you love the sound of a Costa Rican jungle then this is the place for you, if not, bring ear plugs because the noise of the frogs can be overwhelming some nights and the AC was not adequate to keep the bedrooms cool enough for us. The geckos were great at keeping any bugs at bay and very entertaining to watch. The location is outstanding, very central to everything. Just a few minutes to downtown Kailua-Kona, 30 mins to Kealakekua Bay/Place of Refuge and coffee country, 1 hr north to Hapuna Beach. The owner Lyn was very responsive and helpful. We discovered some new beaches (La'aloa, Magic Sands, and our new favorite, Kua Bay) all very close by. Lots of beach items to use as well. The kitchen is full stocked with tools. The house is the perfect location to watch the sunset and is close to town. The only issue we had was with the neighbor who was a complete jerk because the flood lights were on the night we arrived, which we didn’t turn on.
