The room was comfortable but the shower was quite cold. Also, the room was not lockable. The thing that let this property down was that the kitchen area was not very clean. There was dust on the tea bag container and there was old bits of food in the sink. A beautiful house with amazing views of the ocean! There was a little confusion about check-in I would recommend calling ahead the day before just to make sure they know you’re coming. The property definitely doesn’t qualify as luxury as listed in description but rather an old house that hasn’t seen improvements in furnishings, plumbing or decor. We stayed in the room next to the owners private bedroom and bathroom as opposed to having a private entry and space. Breakfast consisted of cereal that was laid out at all times and looked stale, store bough bread that we were invited to toast, hot water for tea available from the faucet, and nespresso coffee. All self-serv. It felt unkept and uninviting. Definitely would not stay again or recommend. De eigenaar Peter is heel vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Een prima ontbijt met hele verse eitjes. Peter heeft een schapenfarm waar hij met passie over vertelt en hij geeft ook scheerdemonstraties. Vanuit Kaikoura kun je goed walvissen en albatrossen kijken. Sehr netter Host, schöner Ort und alles was man braucht.
