“The Great Heron” (3041 Southerly Way) Come relax by the river in a waterfront bungalow located on the stunning Kiawah River. Walking distance to the Dunlin Hotel, the Bungalows are a limited collection of eleven furnished boathouses nestled along a quiet creek off the Kiawah River. The spirit of the Bungalows is all about carefree romantic getaways or the ideal jumping off point for authentic Lowcountry adventures from this picturesque riverfront village.

The Great Heron offers a small kitchenette, Keurig style coffee maker, cooktop, dishwasher, microwave, stand-alone ice maker, mini fridge, king bed and walk-in shower with tub. Washer/Dryer is not provided. There are 16 steps to enter the 2nd floor property. There is an outdoor shower under the bungalow in the garage. The outdoor porch is a perfect place to take in breathtaking coastal views.

The Great Heron is part of the vibrant Kiawah River community on Johns Island. You're just a 5-minute drive to Kiawah Island, Seabrook Island, and Freshfields Village, and only 25 minutes from historic downtown Charleston. Embrace the local charm: walk or bike extensive trails, play tennis or pickle ball, shop Rosebanks farm, join a goat yoga class, book a kayak, boat, or fishing tour departing just steps from your door.

Optional Spring House Amenity Center Access:
​​​​​​​Enjoy the Spring House fitness center, pools, jacuzzi hot tub and sauna for a daily fee of $50 per person payable at The Spring House.

Construction: There are nearby homes and hotel under construction. Some construction noise can be heard from the home during working hours. Monday-Friday 7-7. Saturday 8-5. The price reflects this and will increase upon completion.

• Two cars are allowed. 1 car garage and just in front of the bungalow

-Sewee Properties Booking Process: You must return Sewee Properties Streamsign Guest License Agreement before the booking is fully confirmed. This is sent via email and signed electronically.
-Sewee Properties Cancellation Policy is 30 days. You will receive a full refund minus the 5% reservation fee is cancelled 30 days prior to arrival date. No refunds within 30 days of arrival.

Only issue we had was w/lack of pillow choice, the fill in the pillows moves during sleep causing really bad sleep for me whileci was there. Option of firm foam for side sleepers would put it over the top otherwise a experience

Great Spot

Great location. Check in was very easy. Loved the bungalow and the spring house. Only downside was that I could not get access to the spring house facility the morning of the last day but that was a Sunday. All in all I would definitely stay again.

30th anniversary trip

This is a hidden gem of a community. I enjoyed the views as well as walking the neighborhood admiring all the beautiful properties. This is the perfect place for a couple. It’s small in size but the openness makes it feel larger. I hope to make this annual anniversary trip.

Beautiful property! Didn’t want to leave. We flew into Charleston from Seattle. This was our first stop then on to Savannah, StAugustean and finally Miami. First time in the southeast. This was the best stop out of all. Next time the whole vacation will be here at John’s Island South Carolina.
